Chocolate - what the best bang for my health buck!!!

I need chocolate....and I have a very hard time with keeping it between the "caloric & sugar lines"

I'm just looking for something to pack in my lunch box that I could maybe have a couple to three times a day, something like those Bliss squares......omg.....

Go.

why don't you buy some raw cacao powder and use it in baking or put it in your shake or smoothie?

I would pick what you like (love it sounds like!) and make it fit. Sure, dark chocolate offers some health benefits, but I'm not sure that they are worth it if you don't love it and lose the mental health benefit of eating something you love.

If you want to try a dark chocolate, I like the Lindt dark chocolate with chili - it's sweet and spicy and savory at the same time. There's a dark chocolate with bbq potato chips in it at my local supermarket that I want to try, too!

This. I'm honestly not a dark chocolate fan and it's more torturous to me to pretend like I enjoy it rather than eating something I actually enjoy.

If I were you, I would just make room in my day to have the Bliss squares since you like them.

i make my own trail mix from the bulk bins at sprouts. I throw in a chocolate covered blueberry and a chocolate covered espresso bean. just enough to keep me from going crazy! They also have mini pb cups in a bulk bin which are great in trailmix

I *hate* dark chocolate. I'd rather go without than choke it down.

i like those skinny cow bars/squares. They're a little pricey though.

Musclepharm protein powder, chocolate milk flavor. I have it with milk, and after dinner, it satisfies the chocolate craving every time.

I just make sure that I have room in my calorie plan for 1 serving (3 balls) of Lindor white chocolate truffles. Such a mood lifter!

I liked both Dove and Bliss since they are individually package and they are very good. You seem to like bliss so stick with that. I think they are 30-40 calories per piece? Not bad at all.

I am personally on a dark chocolate with sea salt kick right now. Dark chocolate is okay by itself but I rather milk chocolate but dark chocolate with sea salt is heaven for me. Especially the ones with big chunks of sea salt *drools*

Bark Thins at Costco. I'm not a fan of dark chocolate, but these are good, crunchy and have blueberries in them. During PMS I want to binge on them, but by 1 serving I've had enough.

    Edited to add:

Those Skinny Cow clusters and other stuff are THE BOMB! One maybe 2 of those (120 cal each) Does me just fine.

Also the Skinny Cow Ice Cream sandwiches, OMG! (150 calories)

    All from Costco. :flowerforyou:

There are people who don't like dark chocolate?!

For me, having half a serving of high quality dark chocolate after lunch really hits the spot. Green & Black 85% dark (125 calories), or Lindt 85% (115 calories).

After dinner I go with brownie Coco-roons (76 cals each, I buy them at Whole Foods). I've also discovered ChocoHigos (dark chocolate covered figs, ~105 calories for 3). Or Nutella with strawberries.

Also, the coup de grace: Talenti has double dark chocolate chocolate covered gelato pops for 210 calories each (and it's not a minuscule portion). They. Are. Divine.

I LOVE the Yoplait Yopa nonfat vanilla yogurt (3.5oz containers) with the little thing of dove dark chocolate on top. Great quality chocolate that I love and the vanilla takes away the tartness I've found in most greek yogurts. Great way to get protein and pretend it's a treat!!

I guess I should rephrase, it's not the calories so much that I can make fit, it's the sugar.

20g for the dark chocolate bliss.

I do like dark chocolate, that little bit of bitterness is just superb!

Oh yeah I totally forgot about Skinny Cow stuff.. omg ice cream.

Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Chips. 16 large chips, 80 calories, 6 grams of sugar.

I also have a chocolate protein powder for my protein smoothies (greek yogurt, protein powder, pb2 and a banana).

For something nutritious, try a Quest Bar. They are super filling and lots of chocolate flavors to keep you satisfied, plus 20 grams of protein.

I love chocolate and there isn't much I won't eat...but if you want something smooth and yummy with about 5g of sugar each try the Lindt Lindor truffles (caramel is my favorite). I just had one about 4 minutes ago! YUM!!!

Well you want a chocolate kick? I have an awesome one for you. I shop at Aldi's and buy the Baker's Corner Chocolate Sugar Free Pudding mix, you can also use the sugar free kind from Walmart, literally tastes the same. Here is what I do with it though. I add the whole packet to a blender (140 cals for the dry mix alone.) I then add ice cubes as much as you want really and then 2 cups of milk (240 cals) you can substitute almond milk if you want to (almond milk low cal 2 cups 90 cals). 380 cals for 2% milk grand total or the almond milk low cal Aldis variety grand total 230 cals. I kid you not it will taste like a chocolate shake and volume wise it is a bargain. I add cottage cheese to it sometimes and it makes it really creamy. You can add bananas or strawberries to it also. The vanilla flavor pudding goes better with the fruit in my opinion. You have to try this. It is an absolute must.

Last night I had two squares of the Lindt Excellence dark chocolate with caramel and sea salt. Really satisfied that sweet tooth and the salty tooth!
