HDL

Hey everyone. So I went employee health fair at work and had my lipid profile done. Turns out my HDL aka good cholesterol is too low. My other numbers were good. I've never had to worry about things like this before and I'm scared. I have no idea where to begin.
I know I need to exercise, which I will (I'm new) but what kinds of foods should I be eating less of or more of? Any advice would be great.

I'm trying to increase my good cholesterol right now too. Fish, especially salmon, is an excellent source. Also, berries, blueberries, raspberries. Dark chocolate is good, and so are flax seeds. Beans are another good source...white, kidney, chick peas, etc. If you're trying to lower your LDL too, olive oil, oatmeal, cinnamon all help. If you google it, you'll find some good sites with complete lists of foods that are good for raising HDL and lowering LDL. Try everydayhealth.com and mayoclinic.org They're both a good place to start. Also your national Heart and Stroke site!!0
