New to MFP....need to lose 100# !...........

I came across this site while searching for some kind of help to lose weight. I have fought my weight since my first child was born and he turned 35 this past week! I am currently going through menopause which is not helping matters. My doctor told me last time that I'm in pretty good health except I need to lose weight! If I don't I know I could start having some heath issues. I have been so encouraged reading some of the success stories on here and feel like this is what I have been looking for! Knowing others have the same struggles will be a help to me. I have a long journey ahead of me but with all the help available on here I feel that I have something to work with. Thanks for listening!! (P.S. I joined back in 2010, but that's all the further I got!....this time it is going to be different).

It's a great site. Had started just with the app and didn't even know about the webiste community.Great to see how people are doing. I started with 125 to lose and now down 50. It can be done but it takes determination and most of all, to enjoy the journey. I found that eating healthy can be great if you find things that you enjoy. I am always searching for new recipes. Also exercising is much more fun when you do things that you enjoy.

Hi feel free to add me!!! I have 59 pounds to go. When I get there I will have lost a total of 96 lbs. MFP works for me. My Dr. recommended it to me. Good luck. I log in daily. It's the first thing I do.
  • Hi there! I have about 105 lbs. to lose... MFP is a great site, and I spend a great deal of time reading the success stories too! I'm just taking things a day at a time ~ small changes lead to big results overall (or so I've heard)

Hi, I'm pretty new here, but I'm also dedicated to losing a fair amount of weight. 25 pounds ago I had about a 100 pounds to lose, and I'm hoping that MFP can help me eventually lose the remaining 75. (Am currently pregnant, though, so I'm looking to gradually get my health and weight on track rather than to do anything quick and drastic. I want my health and weight to change for the better, permanently). Feel free to add me as a friend! :)

Joined today, have about 100# to lose. That's horrifying to admit. One day at a time, and I'm committed to doing it this time.

You should join the 100+ lbs to lose groups...http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/4006-100-pounds-to-lose-lets-support-eachother and http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/3339-100-pounds-with-no-surgery

Remember you didn't gain it all over nite, it's not going to fall off over nite.

Weigh/measure/log what you bite. I pre plan my meals/diary entries in advance so I know where I stand. I make adjustments as the day goes on.

Take it one day, one pound, one step at a time. This site is as good as you make it, if you get your mindset where it needs to be, you CAN do it. :flowerforyou:

    Hi

I am 65 years old, have lost about 57lbs all together and hit my goal this week. If I can do it at my age and not overly active anyone can. This site is the best I eat what I want in moderation as long as I keep track of my food and exercise. Good luck, you are headed in the right direction. :flowerforyou:
