Fixing the Big Ol' Mess of My Life :-)

Hi all,

Getting started, again... have toyed with MFP in the past, but didn't stick with it.

I am currently dealing with depression, residual ptsd issues from childhood and relationship issues.

In other words, my life is a big ol' mess, but you would never know it if you knew me irl. I maintain a sense of humour and am able to function like most everyone else, but internalizing my stress has made me sick and overweight.

All the details are in my profile, friend me if you want to know more.

I am 240 today and my ideal lbw is supp. 114.4. I would like to get to 180, then 150, then 130 and finally 115.

I am a bit overwhelmed by all the info here, but hopeful I can finally conquer my weight and get and stay healthy.

I am looking for support from any and every corner of the world! :-)

I've been in here for a while but deleted old account bc I never used it and started a new one. Thought maybe a fresh start would help. Lol. You got this! Don't let PTSD run your life. I had to learn that the hard way years ago... You are stronger than you realize.:-)

Q: How do you eat an elephant?
A: One bite at a time.

I was remodeling my house and had no idea where to begin. My father-in-law was standing behind me, watching me struggle and he asked me, "What can you do right now, today, without having to go to the store or do something else first?" I looked around and saw something that I could actually get done and started describing to him how I was going to do it. When I turned around, he was gone.

Think about the things that are going on in your life and fix something, anything, right now. Even if it's a very small something, it will look and feel like progress. As you fix the little annoyances, the big annoyances won't feel as overwhelming and you'll have more emotional energy to deal with them.

It's when we get behind on the little stuff that the big stuff overwhelms us. If your car is overdue for an oil change, get it changed. Get caught up on the laundry, clean the bathroom, pay your bills, de-clutter your junk drawer, etc.

thank you all for your comments and support. -- feelin' the love, lol! I am really surprised how much the support means to me, I didn't think it would be this big of an impact, but it is helping me stay on track, so again thank you. Sorry for slow reply, ISP has been intermittent and annoying all weekend, hopefully they got it fixed.

I'm sitting in the pilot's seat of a Robinson R-22. One of the things that made be get serious is that the max weight is 240lbs and that's with clothes, gear and everything. I haven't flown a helicopter in a few years but I still have a commercial license. I'd love to get back into it but nobody around me has a helicopter that I can rent.

I saw a quote on Pinterest " We are all a little damaged and that's OK " , love that ! No one is perfect, Nothing is perfect, but humour , support, & inspired supportive friends ( close , far & virtual) help make everything be OK !!!!! Congratulations on joining us all on the journey !
