The powders themselves are not designed for weightloss , you can get powders that aim for low calorie deficit diets , just look for the powders that say lean or diet on them , got to warn you if your new to protein powders you will be in the love it or hate it phase. Not a lot of people can tolerate the taste.
They are not exactly meal replacements either , they are used for people who are lifting weights who want to up the protein in they're diets to increase muscle size and strength. And the powders themselves don't work miracles you really need to put in the work to get the results out at the end.
But the benefits of the powder is you will fill more full up one of the glorious affects of protein.0 -

There's no such thing as "weight loss protein powder". Some companies may market it this way but protein powder is simply a supplemental protein source to be used when you can't get enough protein in your diet through regular foods. It is not a magic potion that is going to "cause" weight loss in any way. That being said you could replace a meal with a protein shake just be sure you are hitting the rest of your macros throughout the day with regular foods.0

Weight loss is going to come from a calorie deficit. You can get low calorie protein powder if that's what your looking for though. It's going to take some playing with at first, to find out exactly how your going to like it. For example, some people like it blended with ice and milk , other people just use water. Some like to add banana or frozen berries, and so on . So it takes a few tries to find out how you like it. Personally, I like it blended with banana , ice, milk :-) good luck!!0

Interesting read but was thinking more of a referenced study rather than an article on a health & fitness site
ETA In addition I was under the impression that Whey was a fast acting protein that breaks down very easily, unlike say Caesin0 -
I use protein powder to make a smoothie in the morning but the powder itself is just a lean protein to me. It's everything else that goes into the smoothie that makes the difference.
For what it's worth, I like Vega One. Sun Warrior is good too.0
