Losing vanity weight!

Hey everyone, just a quick intro - 23 years old, lost around 15kg a few years ago, now weigh around 64kg (164cm tall). Reasonably happy with my weight, but wouldn't mind losing around another 5kg. Finding it a little bit hard now that I'm technically not overweight, the weight just doesn't seem to be coming off like it used to (which makes sense obviously) - any advice from people who are not overweight but still losing?

Not really. Same method just takes more time since generally speaking for health reasons as you get closer to your lowest possible fat content your deficit will get smaller and smaller and therefore your loss will take longer and longer. Just a matter of sticking with it and not trying to rush to your goal and eat at a deficit that will hurt you more than it helps you.
Rules are the same though, eat less calorically than you expend and you will lose weight over time.0 -
What Aaron said...the last 5-10lbs comes off the same way the middle or first 5-10lbs comes off...calorie deficet.
What makes it seem hard is that the less you have to lose the smaller the deficit and the smaller margin of error you have...0 -
These types of amounts usually don't take much to eeek out. A few easy recommendations...You may want to stop drinking anything other than coffee, tea or water. Don't cook with any oils. Don't put any condiments on your food..like no soy sauce, butter, cheese.
When hungry, reach for a veg...not a fruit (while I love many fruits, they are higher in natural sugar).
Give up one fatty thing until you hit your goal. For me it was Choc Milk..and Ice Cream...and Pesto...and Pizza....
You'll knock it out in no time.
Good Luck,

Take your time and focus on strength training (for losing vanity inches while waiting for the scale to move). Our BMI is just about the same so I'm right there with you! :flowerforyou:0

Patience and focusing on other metrics like measurements and fitness levels.
Dont cut out anything that you would re-start as soon as you hit goal. You will just put it back on again.0 -
I'm also at a healthy weight (145 lb, or 66 kg) and I still want to lose 10 more pounds. However, I'm not completely set on my "weight" goal. My real goal is to establish healthy eating habits so I don't gain weight again and then go through the whole cycle of losing again. So I would honestly just suggest losing at a much lower pace than before and working out a lot more. Toning up, doing pilates, lifting weights, running, etc. are what you should be doing from now on to reach your goal. I would be happy staying at the same weight with a fitter body.0
