What gym workout best for weight loss

Our village has a newly opened community gym. There is not a trainer to ask what sort of workout would be best for weight loss. What would people advise? There are treadmills, rowing machine, bikes, elliptical trainers, quad/hams weight machine, pec machine, rhomboid etc machine, bench press, general dumbells etc. I am training for a 10km so have been running outside (although not recently!) but also doing runs (~30mins) on treadmill and fast walking/slow run on highest incline (15%).....I prefer the treadmill to the other cardio machines! Also doing 5 mins on rowing (~1km), and 5mins on cross trainer at moderate/fast speed. Then doing weights - 2 sets of 10 of each at the highest weight I can do (struggle to do more). I only started last week and am trying to go 3 times a week (~60-75mins); I also do a combination of Jazzercise, body pump, body attack, and metafit - whatever I can fit in (about 4-5classes a week)!
I have about 2-2.5 st to lose and am watching my food intake and minimal alcohol so know I am along the right tracks and losing weight gradually, but just wondered about any advice re if I am doing the correct sort of workout at the gym? Open to suggestions! Thanks ????

All of them! Anything that burns calories.

You eat in a calorie deficit to lose weight and you exercise for good health. I say do any workout that you are happy doing. A plan that incorporates cardio and weight training is the best option, so that you maintain muscle mass.

Yeah do the ones you enjoy. I don't do stuff unless I enjoy it.

I agree that the best weight loss exercise is the one you enjoy and stick to for the long term. Experimentation is the best approach.

Weight loss is about calorie deficit, either by reducing food intake, increasing exercise or a combination of both.

In terms of weight loss, the exercise you choose doesn't matter as long as you are burning more calories than you are eating, so do what you most enjoy and are likely to stick to.

Workouts are for fitness and health. Calorie deficit is for weight loss.

That said, do a workout that you KNOW you can continue for life. Just using exercise for weight loss, especially exercise you despise is usually going to also be a demise if you stop doing it and start gaining weight back.

if you're doing a marathon I would think you'd need to do cardio and weights...

aka build endurance for the marathon and also build muscle which of course helps in the weight loss

for me... i have to sweat and die on the elliptical, then weights, then finish with the treadmill to lose weight along with a diet of course.

Variety has been one of the keys to my success. If you get bored, you're less likely to want to workout. It sounds like you do a wide variety of things, which is perfect! I say stick with it, and be open to trying new things within your local community.

^^^THIS^^^ for example, Sharon Stone hates working out...so what she does is put on music at home and dances her foolish head off...and she looks pretty hot in her 50s. Me, I love jumping rope...it's one of my go to cardio exercises that I love. Find what lifts your spirit. In my future life, I hope to be about 6' 7" so I can play b-ball....

I'd form a league where they bring down the baskets one or two feet and let only shorties compete.
