Losing weight but not losing inches

Hi, I've lost 7 pounds so far which is over half my weight lose goal but I have not lost a single inch off my hip/waist/thighs which is my real goal. Is this normal? I am really worried all I'm losing is muscle since I'm only doing some cardio and not much strength training.

While waist/hips/thighs may be where you'd like to lose, that doesn't mean that is where you will lose. I would suggest measuring other places as well. Your arms and chest especially.

But, if you are not putting resistant on your muscles and you have a deficit, you may be losing some muscle.

I've measured all parts of my body and they're all the same. I just wrote hips/waist/thighs because they are the biggest and therefore the most liking to have a measurable difference. I'm going to try to add some muscular exercises I can do at home because I have horrible anxiety when it comes to going to the gym. I also think my goal weight should be lower cause I'm 5'3 and have a very small frame.

I'm not very good at taking measurements. I like to go by how my clothes fit. With that said, you might just need to give it more time.

You don't need a gym to do strength training. Pushups, triceps dips, squats, lunges and other bodyweight exercises will preserve muscle and are easy to do at home. You could also invest in a set of dumbbells, kettlebells or resistance bands for home use. It's easy to find workout routines on the internet.

    Best of luck to you!
