Hi everyone
I just got all setup on here and did my whole profile. Getting honest with yourself is so hard but it has to happen before any changes in life can take place. I have 195 lbs to lose but I'm breaking it down into 10 lb goals so I don't get overwhelmed. Hope to make some friends on here and wish everyone healthy days and a positive journey!

Hi !
Flash-read your profile and saw you're also a PCOS sufferer. It can be a little tougher for us with PCOS to take the weight off because of our higher insulin levels. Those damn hormones will get you every time. But I'm here to say it can be done ! Can I suggest adjusting your carbs to be 30-40% of your daily intake instead of MFP's 50%+? That way you can get all your fruits and veggies in but try to leave the potatoes, breads and pasta behind. (I'm not saying you should never have them ((shudder)),but limiting them when you have PCOS is extremely helpful). Since losing this weight, my symptoms have gone waaaayyyy down.
Also, get your exercise in ! Don't go overboard at first - just do some walking. Outside or you can Youtube search for Leslie Sansone walking videos - they're great and how I started.
Don't get overwhelmed ! I like your small mini goals - that's the right attitude. Also, everyone will slip up every now and then - every single one of us. It's the whole nature of the business, so don't let it get your down or turn it into a lasting binge. Use it as experience and keep on swimming ! Patience and perseverance pays off, and you will start to feel so much better like I do now. Best of luck and health to you !0 -
Thanks beveezy11! All the best in your journey too0

Yes PCOS is just precious isn't it lol. I lost my first 80 lbs initially by going on Atkins and then body for life choosing good carbs and limiting them to 30-35%. Body for life was 40 40 20 but I'm leaning towards 40 35 25 somewhere in there. I take fish oil and I like my hummus and avocados so I'm a firm believer that the right fats are fine omega 3 and some 6's. The doctors diet seems great for me and it's similar to the hormone diet by natasha turner. I have quitew a lot of knowledge in nutrition and especially with PCOS so I definitely won't be eating anything white except Greek yogurt and unsweetened vanilla almond milk lol. The hormone diet is a great book for anyone with hormonal issues insulin resistance PCOS etc. I'll be doing swimming mainly because of my MS issues and weights and bands and the ball. Its all great to plan, just gotta start tomorrow morning and I'll be just fine lol0
