Want to drop 50lbs by the end of the year..

Any advice? I'm calorie watching but not really loosing very fast maybe around 2-3lbs a month. I'd like to loose closer to 8lbs a month if possible. I'm 5ft 7 and 223 I've lost 35lbs since last summer when I had my wake up call but I feel like my progress has halted. I exercise sort of on and off. I get bored with the same routines. I want to start running but my knees can't handle it. I generally do weights 2 times a week and I walk fast when I'm out. I try to hit the gym but it's going to have to stop over the summer because of child care.

I would not call it advice, but one suggestion would be to change up your food plan. I just started carb cycling, as in the Chris Powell books. He uses the cycling in his personal life, as well as with his clients. I am liking it so far, as it is 5 smaller meals per day- you are almost never really that hungry. It is a mixture of low and higher carb days with a reward day per week. Or a couple of reward meals- the rewards are for any cravings, but you stay within reason.

It can be hard with the little ones, but one thing that worked for me when my kids were small was getting them into exercise or yoga videos with me. Not only did it keep them occupied, but it helped teach healthy habits from early on without pressure. I also used to jog with them when they rode their bikes- before the big gain....

Hope this gives you a couple of ideas.
