Chub rub at the beach.

I am in the process of losing weight, and have a trip to Hawaii coming up in 5 weeks! I don't think I will lose enough to completely get rid of my chub rub right now.
Does anyone have any tips for keeping the chafing rashes at bay while spending a day at the beach in the sand and surf? Salt water kills my legs! I can usually use some deodorant day to day, but need something to prevent that salt and sweat painful combo. Saw something about Bodyglide and thinking about checking that out. Then maybe powder my legs after I dry them off.
I also don't want to have to buy some new short swim bottoms, I like my swimsuit. ):

Bodyglide is a great product. I think you can find similar products in the beauty aisle at most stores, so you might want to check locally before needing to order anything if your sporting goods store doesn't carry it.0

Thanks, JTick! I will check it out, I've heard Monistat anti chafing stuff is pretty good too, so will experiment some before the trip if I can't find Bodyglide.0

You should be able to find Bodyglide at a sporting goods store, such as Sportsmart. I love that stuff...I sometimes have to put it on my feet for running or where the shorts might rub when doing a race. I think it works great, and it doesn't rub off quickly.0

Awesome to know, thanks so much! I have been obsessing over this issue lately, as I have had some bad experiences... But I figured something like Bodyglide will also be good for different workouts, runs, hikes, bike rides, etc! Y'know, it's intended purpose. Haha.0

If you decide to go with Bodyglide, you might be a little surprised when you first open it...I was! It's the texture of a deodorant, and I have to put it on pretty thick to get good results. It leaves no residue though, so even when you use a bunch you don't have to worry about someone seeing it.0

I'm going to Jamaica next week and was pondering the same thing. Been battle chub rub today with my work pants, i've droped a few lbs and they dont seem to want to sit where they normally do and my thighs are rubbing together at the top ... awkward and painful and no option to go home and change on this 12 hour shift.0

+1 for bodyglide. It's a must on my longer runs.0

OMG, seriously I thought something completely diffferent when I say "Chub Rub." The guys will know what I mean.....I think.0

Try rolling the waist of your pants once or twice, so the crotch gets hiked up back to where it belongs. I do this a lot with shorts, sweatpants, etc.0 -
Bodyglide will totally do the trick.0

Another vote for Bodyglide.0

I don't know why that didn't occur to me, thank you ! Back in the day i used to do it all the time because my stomach was flat but i still had a big rear and thighs so for clothes to fit my bottom they were too big in the waist.... Maybe im on the right track to getting back there... lol
Thanks again!0 -
Thanks guys! Just wanted to see what y'all thought before I went and bought anything.0

Bodyglide. I wouldn't use anything else. It's water-resistant and sweat resistant (obviously) and works pretty well. I used it for beach running last Summer and Fall.0

This article might help you out! The author tested out various methods and reviewed them all. Some are more suited to under-the-clothes wear (the shorts, etc.), but towards the end she reviews anti-chaffing cremes products that might work on the beach!

I ran my first half marathon at over 200lbs and I can tell you that Bodyglide is really great! Even after losing lots of weight, I still do not have the "thigh gap" that is all the rage, but I have some kickass legs thanks to lifting.
I sure hope you ENJOY your vacation!!0 -
Yo, I'm here for the chub rub. Ladies???? Hahhaha0
-
Thank you!
And for those who don't know what I mean in this context, 'chub rub' is also a term for 'thigh chafing', where your thighs rub together and cause rashes, broken skin, and general discomfort.
I've seen it used a lot on this site and other sites for weight loss tips and things of that nature, so it's a pretty widely used phrase for this. Haha.0 -
Ugh! I'm too late! Lanacane anti-chafing gel works wonders!0
