    I don't place a number on old.

It's all about activity level and capability! You are only as old as you feel, the number doesn't define your age!

You are as old as you feel. Age is just a number. It depends on how you feel inside. I am 38 but I don't feel it. Before I changed my lifestyle, I felt like I was twice my age. My mother who is 70 is in better shape than me. She can out move me anytime. But since things have changed, I am doing better at keeping up with her. So, I would say that I used to feel 66, but now I feel a lot closer to my actual age. As time goes on, I hope to feel even younger.

I'm 28 and I feel better now than I did at 25. I completely believe that age is a number.

My Grandparents are 81 and 82 and still own their house, mow their 1 1/2 acres of lawn, walk every day, volunteer, drive, go out to dinner. They are definitely NOT old :)

I'm 38 and I don't consider that old at all. I'm often mistaken for being in my 20s - good skin, no signs of wrinkles at all - thanks mom!

I did read something the other day that made me feel old for only a few seconds. I heard the word "spinster" used on TV and even though I knew what the word meant I really wanted to know at what age is someone considered a spinster. Well...the info I found had the age at 38!!! So I'm technically a spinster since I'm 38, unmarried and have no children! LOL!!

    PS. Happy Birthday!!

As I slowly creep up to 30 (28) I now realize that "old" is actually old, like 80+. My parents are 60 or almost and they aren't per say old. I say old is when you are feeble and incapable of performing all or most of the things you did when you were younger. For some people that is 60 if they let themselves go for others its 80, 90 or better.

When it comes to dating however there is definitely a cut-off age as “old”. In my early 20’s I would say guys that were 30 were old and I would never consider dating them. The “old-guy” at the bar was 40. My husband and I are therefore 7 months apart (he’s May I’m December, we’re a May December relationship of sorts) and have been together since we were 16 so luckily truly rejecting an “old 30 year old” was never something I had to do.

I MIGHT be considered old! I am 55 (soon to be 56). I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I bought a Harley last year! You are as young as you feel!

I am 45 and I am definately not old. My Dad and Mom are 78 and 76, and they are active and healthy, my Dad still swims 3 days a week and they both bowl on a bowling league. They are "getting old" (in their words! :-))

Old is is not what it use to be, I'm 50 and don't feel that age at all, and after I meet my goals I'm hoping to feel a lot younger.

I'm 57 and I don't think I'm old yet although sometimes I feel old physically but mentally I'm still a young whippersnapper.  Realistically I think I'm doing pretty good for 57. I do a lot of walking because I don't drive and I think that helps to keep me young. I'm always acting silly around my 24 year old son and he's always telling me (laughingly) to grow up.  But I don't wanna.

By the way, happy birthday Everyoung. :flowerforyou:

I think it's a matter of perspective. To quote the Gershwins:
    Methus'lah lived nine hundred years/
    Methus'lah lived nine hundred years.
But who calls dat livin' when no gal'll give in/
To no man what's nine hundred years:happy:

Your age is indisputable fact, but being old is a state of mind.

I have this friend...not sure his exact age but pushing 70 if I have to guess. He's a Harley mechanic and has the grandpa/santa look going. He often says "when I grow up......."

I love that! I don't think "old" is based on a number. I am almost 31 and strangers think I look younger than my 19 year old sister. I think you're only as old as you feel.... so I guess I'm still a teenager. Feeling young keeps you young. My great grandma is in her 90s and still goes to the casino. My mom's friend's mom is in her 90's and a couple years ago she got scolded for being up on a ladder painting her house. If you can do it...do it.

I'm 43 and not there yet. Still love toys, still laugh at fart jokes, still want to cry when my girl doesn't go for me. Adults are kids with money.
