Gaining Control

True Test.. I am not dieting, or trying something temporary, just to accomplish a goal weight to just gain it all back later. I am working to make a permanent change in who I am. I was an overweight person who made bad decisions on what I ate, and had lost a zest for life because it was too difficult to do anything physically. That is not who I wanted to be. I chose to change. With that decision comes millions of other decisions. What to eat and when, how to cook it, habits, thoughts, and physical movement. No one else can do this for me. No one else can honestly help me. It is my choice. After a life time of bad choices, I am going to make good choices. I am going to win.
I started at 310 pounds, today I am at 265. It was not an easy journey, lots of ups and downs. It has taken about two years, but I am gaining momentum now, losing weight more steadly as I am gaining more strength in my thinking process. As I said, I want this to be a permanent change. I have lost friends because I made them feel uncomfortable (they wanted a eating buddy) and I have gained alot of new friends (who encourage me with my new life style). I feel great, and I am having so much more fun now that I can "move". I am excited and do not fear the future. I use to think that I woud never weigh 200 again, now I say, "come on 165"! I LOVE ME NOW, enough to want and desire and embrace this change with all of ME, heart, mind, and soul! Yippee!

You are incredibly inspiring! Good for you! It is hard to lose friends because you are doing something to better yourself but as you said you have gained new friends that support you! People change so you can learn to let go.....
You are doing much better and making good choices for you and your family! Congrats on your success and we will be here to see that pic of you at 165lbs:)
  • You are an inspiration... thank you.. and I agree with you, no one can do it for you, you must make the choice yourself, and then make it again and again, everyday, every mealtime, every time! Thank you again.
