Hello All,

My colleague/friend introduced me to this site. Hopefully together we can be each other's motivation in obtaining a new and healthy lifestyle! It seems extremely hard for me to lose weight. I've cut back on carbs, meaning I do not buy, rice, pasta or bread unless it's whole grain but even then it's rare. I eat oatmeal, drink skim milk, lipton diet green tea, fruit, salmon, chicken, salads, veggies, I walk the bridge every week, do 50 crutches almost everyday but unfortunately the weight continues to fluctuate. On occasion I will indulge in chips and or candy. What can I try as a sugar substitute when I feel like something sweet at night? Someone suggested sugar free ice pops!

Ditch the sugar free items. They are filled with chemicals and that is awful for your entire body. Drink water, more water and then, more water. For something surgary at night try eating fresh fruit that is in season. Chop up bananas and freeze them, then put them in the blender for a banana 'ice cream'. If you need something with it, put some chocolate syrup in with it and it is delish! No added sugars, no fake stuff.

You are getting plenty of sugar from whole grains already why dont see why you are trying to avoid sugar.

Personally I don't do sugar substitutes because they do not agree with me at all, but if you can tolerate them then sugar free jello is a cheap/easy option. However, I would suggest trying to satisfy a sweet tooth with fruits or perhaps a really dark chocolate. I've gotten used to the 85%-90% dark chocolate, and I find that just a square or two is enough to satisfy my chocolate craving without that much sugar/carbs.

Perhaps you don't fully understand how this site works. Here's two links for you that should help answer your questions. Perhaps not the exact questions you asked, but the questions you might want to ask.
