Does your heart beat at a higher rate and burn more calories during an exercise session than you would normally?

That is definitely something you'd want to ask your doctor about. I am pretty positive that HRMs aren't that "accurate" for pregnant women because being pregnant causes different heart rates. I DON'T think you would be burning more calories, nor do I really think that would be the point when you're pregnant. I would think you'd want to be doing about the same and feeding your body.0

I am just walking so nothing excessive, but I got a burn of 525 for a 43min brisk walk. Where are usually I would get around 290-340 calories.. I was out of breath and I did push myself to go at a good pace.
I've been cleared by my doctor to do this.
ETA: I'm not worried about losing weight, I was just wondering if the heart beats faster and if the body burns more calories.0
