We are now in an age where personal music devices are part of our lives. The problem? Many who listen to them crank the volume up so loud that a person near them can hear the music clearly.

So here's some stats on hearing loss and how it may affect income in your personal life.

I'm all for having your own music. Just don't let your hearing health and safety (lack of being able to hear around you, IE. car horn) suffer because you may want to drown out the rest of the world.

    IN!

    Fave quote from that article:

"When you seem out of touch because you can't hear, other people may incorrectly believe you are stupid; in effect your untreated hearing loss ends up being much more noticeable than modern hearing devices in your ears."

I'm not sure it's always percieved as stupidity, sometimes it can seem like being ignored. I thought my mom was ignoring me for years before she admitted one ear was not working right. We think it was the work cell phone ear that she always had cranked up to drown out loud ambient noise in restaurants and other places. The world has gotten so much louder, kids parties and movies for instance. I swear on a bag of cream filled donuts they didn't used to be so loud. Cosmic bowling, bouncey houses with DJ's, trampoline rooms, overfilled classrooms. Loud, loud, loud.

May be both! :flowerforyou: Sorry, just had to.

I am a product of the 70's. My hearing is not 100%. Too many concerts and being a heavy equipment operator for many years. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose all your hearing. I try to keep my volume under control now.... try, there are just some songs!

I'm putting my money on "hearing aid device" manufacturers for investment. In about 20 years, I'll reap in a good amount the way many people now use earphones and crank the sound up in cars and homes.
