Hi everyone, so I am new to working out to lose weight. I have never had to do this but gained 30 pounds at college. I don't understand how many calories I need to burn to lose weight. I have read everywhere and I keep getting different answers. My goal is to lose 2.5 pounds a week. I was to lose 25 by August. I am on a 1250 calorie diet. Someone with knowledge please help!

Enter your details into MFP - what does that give you?
In all honesty, 2.5lbs per week is too aggressive if you only have 30lbs to lose. You'd be better off to set it to 0.5-1lb per week :flowerforyou:0 -
I agree, your goal is likely too aggressive based upon the amount you have to lose. Generally, a pound a week is quite doable.
To calculate calories, simply enter your stats and let MFP figure it out for you.0
