Oh The Irony

I usually use my computer for all my logging, but I do have the app for when I am out an about. I turned it on this morning and at the bottom was an ad for Burger King. I know the site needs to make money and all that, but you think they'd be more conscientious of which ads they show us! Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry or offended or tempted. I just think it's funny.

So I pose the question: What ads make you laugh in the context of their presentation?

I have an ad blocker, I see no ads.

MFP doesn't choose which ads we see, it's based off of your internet history.

This topic comes up regularly. MFP doesn't have much control over the ads as it's mostly your own surfing history that controls them.

My current Ad is for Centrum, so I guess my computer is calling me old. I wonder if using the word "whippersnapper" in another thread may have triggered that? Anyone?

I get ads for McDonalds on this site All The Time. Including right now. But interestingly, the ads are for their Iced tea and coffee...which are actually the only think I ever order for myself at McDonalds. So maybe they do know me better than I suspected.

ah, but she thinks MFP should be more conscientious which means she believes something is wrong with BK adds. Perfaps i should have asked why she thought it was funny.

She did call it irony. Not idiocy or sabotage. I feel like she needs 16 karma points just for that alone.

Usually the adds that pop up are generated based on our own searching and surfing. Currently I have adds for newborn car seats. I almost always get adds for baby items. (I don't have any babies anymore, but apparently write about them enough that I get adds for baby stuff. Lol)

Pretty sure my surfing habits would make the ad generator blush.

Apparently aging has the unfortunate side effect of becoming a grammar nazi. Yeah yeah yeah, I'll get off your lawn now.

If you download the Adblock plus add on for firefox or chrome..it kills all the ads, even the ones on youtube videos.

    True story:
I'm currently looking at an ad for "prefilled injectables", making a point that it is "now available in morphine sulfate".

I prefer not to try and figure out what MFP is calling me...
