Any movie suggestions for the elliptical?

Even though I'm an outdoor-freak, I joined a gym a couple of months ago, since I've had to focus on strength training and doing low-impact exercising due to an injury.

I find that the elliptical isn't actually that bad, but I REALLY need some fun, work-out motivating movies to watch when I want to be on that thing for more than an hour.

I'd love some suggestions - some fun movies that will keep me entertained and motivated!

THANKS!

Ps: BTW... for your runners out there... watch 'without limits'!!!! go pre!

if you joined a gym to focus on strength training... why are you on the elliptical for longer than an hour?

I find I don't need any particular genre, just anything that keeps my attention will work..so I suggest you just go with what you already like!

    whoops!! missed that part!!

i also sprained my ankle about two years ago, so all i could do for a while was the elliptical.

i find that if i'm doing something like that, i'd prefer to watch a movie i've seen a bunch of times, so that i can follow the story. if you try and watch a new movie, you might get frustrated that you're not picking up the story.

or try books on tape. i've heard a lot of people like them for long cardio sessions.

I can't keep re-watching the same things I like over and over again.

Can none of you guys think of oooooneeee awesome movie?

Possibly with really hot people in it. That def. keeps me motivated hahaha ;)

That was a short-lived friendship :frown:

Fine. I haven't seen it. I'll give it a try next time I'm bored out of my mind. Thank you.

Honestly, most folks I have tricked into watching Battlestar have gotten addicted. Pretty good acting and a decent plot for most of the episodes. Plus there are lots of them so its a good time burner.

Also, what works for me better than movies / shows are audio books. For some reason, the act of visualizing the books actually keeps my mind off the dreaded metrics of the torture machines I am on. I find once I start looking at the time its all I can think about but the audio books seem to keep me more distracted.

That's funny, I'm writing a dissertation on literary film adaptations and that whole audio to visual thing, AT THIS VERY MOMENT.

    ALRIGHT IMMA WATCH BATTLESTARS NOW.

It looks like I don't have a choice.

I like watching game shows on the elliptical. Especially Jeopardy and other trivia-type shows. Keeps my mind occupied. Of course they only run half an hour...but I get bored on the elliptical after 30 minutes no matter what.
