Summertime...errrr.

I'm a teacher. I just started counting. I have lost 4--probably one or two more--pounds since I started counting 21 days ago. I am usually right on at 1200 calories Sunday-Thursday, but generally go over on Friday and Saturday because I drink on those days.
I've been consciously changing my eating habits by watching my portions, counting calories, and eating healthier--like salads and fish.
I don't generally eat breakfast during the week--I've never been much of a breakfast eater--but I am a bored eater. I like to cook when I am bored, and eat.
I am worried about the summer. In three weeks I will be off of work for 2 months. I will be drinking more, eating more, and I'm worried that I won't be able to stick to my calorie goal. I am however hopeful that I will have time to exercise.
I do have a disabled son I will be taking care of all summer with very little help.
How can I stick to my calorie goal?
What can I do when I am bored besides eat.
And what are some at home exercise programs I can try at home so I don't have to leave my son?
I like dancing routine stuff.......
I'm happy I have been losing and once I get to where I want to be..about 130, I hope to maintain it, but still be able to enjoy food. I know I need to add exercise in, I'm just not figuring out how.
Thanks in advance for all your tips and ideas. I really appreciate the people on this site who are willing to help in a positive manner.

I don't know the nature of your son's disability [and no need to expand on it if you aren't comfortable! ], but is it possible to get him involved as well? Maybe incorporating walks together, or trying to fit in a workout while he's taking a nap or eating. Aside from that, keep logging every day. Try to fit in exercise when you can. Incorporate your alcohol into your daily macros on the weekends. And continue the momentum you've already started three weeks ago!

Hi!!!
The summer will be a great time to get more exercise!! When I get bored I do things like clean out a junk drawer, paint my nails, organize a closet. The organization helps to make my life easier. I also like to drink tea, read a book or find something on Netflix to watch with my son.
I recently read on another post that someone really enjoyed dancing with Jessica. Also, though sometimes pricey, beach body has some dance workouts. Do you have wiifit, I have heard there are decent dance programs on there.0 -
I remember you from before.
"You are your own gym."
It's a thing, google it and it tells you how to workout with nothing.
target sells dumbbells in various sizes. get some. maybe a small size for your kiddo to do along with you depending on his abilities/age/interest level. do the basic 4 weightlifts with these. squats & deadlifts. bench press & overhead lift. these can all be modified for dumbbell use. that way you can do it at home. they are sometimes referred to as the big 4.
cardio, if it's not too hot early morning walk with him or pushing him as the case may be.
cardio is not necessary but it burns a LOT of cals and since you seem pretty worried about all the hours at home and eating/drinking more that might help offset that.
good luck, hug that kiddo for us!:flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks for the tips. I will Google what you suggested.
Walking is a good idea...he is mobile, but hates walking--but I could probably get him to chill in his wheel chair with his iPad and we could walk. That's a good idea.
Thanks a bunch for the ideas.0 -
Those are great tips for keeping me from getting bored.
Thank you!!!0 -
. I will be drinking more, eating more,
so you have already made the decision to eat and drink more? why? everything that goes in your mouth is YOUR CHOICE... choose to lose weight instead of choosing to stuff your face.0 -
I'm just being realistic. The choices will be day to day, but I know there will be more temptation and sometimes I will choose to "stuff my face."
I didn't ask for judgmental, ****-headed comments, I asked for tips and advice.
Thank you to those of you who are willing to help without judging. It means a lot.0 -
There was no judgement in my post, just advice... Might have sounded harsh, but it's the truth...0
