Cardio Exercises with Bad Knees

So until a few weeks ago, I was able to be active via dance and running until I dislocated my knee again. I'm still able to do sit ups, and crunches but as for most standing exercises I'm unable to do much while recovering from the injury. I sadly don't have a bike either now that I am home from college. As of now I can't stand long periods of times with my knees healing up.
Any recommendations for good cardio exercises I can do on my back or sitting down? Thanks!

Maybe try some pilates? That's cardio and strength training. How about swimming? Might not be good on the old knee though.0

A hand bicycle is what my PT always put in front of me when I gave some excuse about my legs.
