    My God! Volume is the measurement of space occupied by a 3 diamentional object. Those of you who say "muscle weighs more than fat" but dont mean litterally weighs more than fat.. shouldnt use the word "weighs" you need to start saying "fat has a larger volume than muscle" but that wont explain why you are heavier....

    Don't get mad at us becuase you wanted to blame your lack of weight loss on the idea that the muscle you have gained is why you are no lighter, or even heavier than before.

    You burn fat for energy, as long as you do not replace this fat store when you stuff your face, you will have lost the fat, and you may increase your muscle mass dependant on the kind of excercise you do. But its unlikely unless you are a crazy body builder, and on a stupid diet.

    Weight and Volume are 2 seperate measurements so if you mean volume... then say it!

    Do you really think that anyone who says "muscle weighs more than fat" is trying to convince you that 1 lb of muscle weighs more than 1 lb of fat? It is a GIVEN that they are speaking in terms of volume.

    nobody thinks a lb weighs more than a lb.

    its given that people are talking density.

    but this whole muscle weighs more than fat argument is useless considering that most people use it to explain a weight stall/gain during a calorie deficit, when it is near impossible to burn fat and gain muscle at the same time

    saying fat has a larger volume than muscle is just as incorrect as saying muscle weighs more than fat...

    Agreed. In most cases it's either a) they're not being as strict in their calorie goal/ceiling as they think they are, or b) water retention.
