Ran/Walked my 2nd (that's right, 2nd!) 5k this weekend. Beat my last time by almost 10 mins and got my husband to do it with me. This was his first 5k and it was awesome! Now we both want to do the Color Run when it comes to the area in November.
I also got a new pair of jeans that are 2 sizes smaller than my old ones, which weren't even that old, I've had them a little over a month, I lost 2 sizes in a month!
A lot of the credit has to be given to my dog, I have gotten her so used to going for a walk/run every morning that she isn't satisfied with just a quick 'out to tinkle' so we go to the beach every morning rain or shine and do at least a mile. I had no idea, when I started doing this, that it would make me feel better mentally and physically. I'm less cranky in the morning, even tho I'm up an hour earlier than I used to be. It also makes it easier to make better food choices (I didn't go for a run this morning just to ruin it by eating a donut!)
I have new 'quick grab' breakfasts. Instead of grabbing a fast food breakfast I have Greek yogurt and granola, or I make a breakfast sandwich by grabbing a frozen turkey sausage patty, a slice of 2% cheese, and one of those Sara Lee whole grain sandwich rounds, which I highly recommend, they toast beautifully and can also be used to make a healthy personal pizza in a toaster oven.
Yes, I am losing weight, but I am putting less focus on the scale and more focus on a new lifestyle that includes more fun and adventures and less vegging out in front of the TV.
