Gained weight

 I have been doing very well as far as eating and staying under my calories for 10 days now. I had lost 2 pounds and now today I've gained 3 so could going over my sodium intake have anything to do with it? I will still stick to this program but I'm looking for some results, any ideas???

Yes, Sodium can definitely cause a fluctuation on the scale. On Friday I was light. On Monday I 'gained' 2 lbs. I had a LOT of sodium. (Cookouts, graduation party, hanging with friends...) Also, you may want to consider opening your diary to the public if you'd like more guidance. Keep tracking, drink plenty of water and stick with it.

ETA: Ditto on the water weight mentioned below.

400mg of sodium can cause your body to retain an extra 2 pounds of water. It is pretty easy to gain 6 pounds in water over the course of a day due to sodium intake.

But its water...there is no reason to be upset by it.

Firstly please don't stress about it :) my weight fluctuates like crazy! I find a bit to much sodium doesn't help me personally..It could also just be water retention! Just keep on track and you'll get there :)

You bet, I never realized the wild fluctuations one's weight has from salt until I started here on MFP. Just chill, your weight loss graph will be a saw-tooth with a downward trend. 10-days is nothing, I'm on day 300. This is an endurance run, not a sprint.

I fluctuate by 4lbs. I weigh daily so I know my range and only record when it is a new low, or if the number was higher than my range. I weigh 2 lbs more every evening. Weigh fluctuations happen to everyone, and at the beginning it is hard to tell what is a real loss vs fluctuation.

    Could be:

    1. Sodium
    2. Lack of fiber
    3. Hormonal fluctuations. (I recently lost 2.6 lbs overnight due to that)
    4. Inaccurate logging of food/exercise
    5. Inaccurate scales (I've seen some give me 2 different readings 4lbs apart within minutes)
    6. Extra water weight if you've just started lifting weights

Or lots of other things. Relax, you should be in it for the long haul, not just a few days!

i gained 8lbs over Memorial Day weekend because I went WAY off the reservation...tons of sodium and lots of processed sugar. In reality, I probably gained less than half a pound of "real" weight. After my jog today i'll be back in the vicinity of normal. Don't worry unless after several weeks you haven't started to see a downward trend.

If that happens, make sure you are weighing everything with a food scale and search some threads about finding your own personal TDEE instead of using the MFP general one.
