What's with the constant peeing??

Granted I was never one to drink much water before I started (last week), but I did have juices, coffee, tea and pop on a fairly frequent basis. I get that of course I will go more often, but I seem to be .... um .... releasing far more than my intake is and frequently. Does this seem right or normal?

I am still getting to know my way around the site so sorry if this has been asked and answered before.

Yes, happens to most when they really up their intake of water. If you are properly hydrated your body will let go of excess water also.

Did your sodium intake drop when you started dieting?

How long have you been dieting? Could be your glucose stores are being depleted - a side effect of this is water weight loss.

If you're concerned about something see your doctor.
Do you really want to be at a stage down the track thinking "I wish Id caught 'ínsert whatever here' earlier, If only Id seen a medical professional instead of consulting internet people"
On the other hand, if you know youre worrying over nothing... STOP!
Only you know which one of these 2 responses is correct :flowerforyou:

Aaron: I am used to very little salt as I cook with my kids in mind. Having said that, I am definitely having less processed stuff since I started. Good point. Thanks.

QuietBloom: Been at this properly for just a week now although I have been on and off this site for almost two years. I don't know enough about glucose stores to even guess if they're depleted. Good to know though.

mfp2014mfp: Truly don't think there's a need to hassle my doc and not something I'm 'worried' about, just more of an annoyance and I wondered if it was a common occurence. Thanks for the thought though, and for the option to choose a response.

    Thanks jltheis7 and kpost323.

It could be nothing, just a side effect of drinking more water than you're used to. It could also be an early warning sign of diabetes. If your body adjusts quickly, it's probably nothing, but if it persists, it might be worth getting a checkup if you're at risk for diabetes.
  • yeah, I sometimes wonder if the recommended intake of water is a little high. I've done it for a long time, and you never really "get used to it", you just get used to needing to urinate constantly.

Water is a byproduct of fat being metabolized. Has to go somewhere......

That recommendation - from a descriptive, not prescriptive, study in the 1940's - includes the liquid in fruits, vegetables, and other food sources, along with beverage intake. Lots of folks seem to miss this minor detail.
