    <~~Met this guy on MFP about 2.5 years ago. Fell in love over a year and a half ago. Luckily, we're only 2 hours apart. Though most of the time, even that is too much!

    Edited to address the part about relationships being destroyed here: I was married when i joined MFP. I had been unhappy for years. Losing weight gave me the strength and confidence I needed to tell my husband how I felt, what I needed, what we needed to work on, and eventually to leave. It was a terrible marriage. I'm exponentially happier now. I wouldn't change it for the world.

    Only thing I've heard is that if you're in a relationship, this site can destroy it.

    If a web site "destroys" your relationship, you had problems to begin with.

    I was married when i started here. Now divorced, but not because of this site. Met my current GF here, and she makes me happier than i have been in the last 10 years. I couldn't imagine my life without her in it.

    I did have a long-distance MFP relationship for 6ish months. We did manage to see each other about every 8 weeks. Distance couldn't have been over come though :( (both have kids with exs in our home countries) Still miss her now and then.

    So my neighbor is the one who told me to join myfitnesspal. She has seen my struggles with weight the last 2 years and wanted to help me. She tells me that her sister, met her current husband on myfitnesspal and that it was fate that brought them together. They lived in different states and managed to make their MFP love work, and now they are happily married.

    Are these love stories real? Am I going to meet my prince charming on here, too? LOL!!

    Websites don't destroy relationships. People who don't take commitment seriously and entertain website proposals destroy relationships! Take it from a divorcee who filed for divorce after my ex reconnected with an old high school gf on Facebook. If it's over...end it and then shop!

    I didn't make MFP into anything. I made a bunch of friends here, one became a best friend, then he became my love. It's no different than meeting someone anywhere else.
