Good Day MFPers!! Hope this year is treating you well. I just purchased a bodymedia fit armband and was wondering how you use it and how successful have you been? I also want to know if/how you use their calorie tracker or if you just use MFP. I'm really excited about this gadget and hope that it will help me lose the weight at a pace I want to. Any advice, suggestions, words of wisdom, quick tips......Will be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks and Happy New Year!!!

I keep mine on all the time (the BodyMedia Fit). I love it.
It's especially helpful to see how many calories I burn during workouts. I like to see my quality of sleep and the number of steps that I take each day.
Have fun!0 -
Hi, I have a bodymedia.
I wear it, but I still use the food log here at MFP. Then, I just enter a total daily calorie intake over at the bodymedia site. I created a "food" called "one thousand calories" so I just adjust the serving size to reflect my daily intake (so, 1700 calories would be 1.7 "servings"). I also enter the calories over my daily goal according to MFP after the day is over (actually the next morning over my coffee). Hope that makes sense...it's a bit tricky to explain.
I got in it November, and have lost 1.5 inches in my (extremely stubborn) low waist. After plateauing there for a year. It's given me a great new perspective on overall activity. I also discovered that my HRM was over-estimating my calories burned during workouts.
Also (and I'm not sure why this is) it seems to take about a week to "settle in" to your individual something or other. The first few days gave me higher burns than I get now. Just something to consider. I love mine.

I blogged about it a couple of times, too...if you want more blabbing.0 -
I just got my BodyFit right after Christmas and I love it! I wear it all day except when i shower. I let it charge during that time. I do check in with BMF (BodyMedia Fit) often during the day to see hwo I'm doing. I use their site to track my food, but I still add my calories here under a quick add and my excersize to keep people here posted on what I am doing. But I use BMF for the detailed tracking.
I have found the braekdown of my sleep quality very interesting and the daily calorie burn is such a motivator! Just knowing that every movement is adding up, gets me to move more and work harder! I've only been using it for a week now, but I have lost about 4# since starting. A lot of that is water fromt eh holiday season, but i'll take it!0 -

Ooh, I love this idea of creating a 1000-cal food over there and still tracking over here. I like this database so much better. Thanks for that suggestion!0 -
Santa brought me a FitBit for Christmas, same concept I think. I wear it all day, actually at night too since it logs sleep patterns, kind of cool. I'm a gadget person so I really like it. I use the website to monitor my activity. I've been bad about logging food because it doesn't have anywhere near the number of foods MFP does. I got an idea from another MFP user to just enter my MFP data as one meal at the end of the day. I find that it's calorie counts are very close to those I get off of the machines when I work out. Just wish it could give me a 'zap' on the days I'm not active enough  :laugh:0
