Need help about the 1200 calorie diet.

Hello, I am a 16 yr old male, who has some questions about the 1200 cal diet. I have heard that being on this diet will make me lose muscle before fat. Is this true, and if so is there a way to get around it? I want to lose weight, and I only have time to workout on weekends and Wednesdays. Please help, I wanna lose around 1lb-2lb a week. Preferably 2lb. Also sometimes I go over 1200 cals by 200-250 cals. Does this matter? Or even help? I eat tuna a lot. It is my favorite food. Also meat like chicken and sometimes beef.

    If that is a current photo you certainly do not look overweight...why do you want to lose weight? You may be better off focusing on building lean body mass instead.

    1200cals per day for a male teenager is no where near sufficient nutrition for a growing body.

    You got to pretend to be 18 to be on this site :p.. You are a guy, please don't eat 1200 calories. You go over because you aren't meant to be eating so little, if you were my kid I wouldn't let you eat less than 1800 a day.

    And 1200 cals is stupidly low for a growing male. Wish you sucess but this isn't the way to do it.
