I usually only have smoothies right after my workouts so they tend to be big.
Using my nutribullet I put greens on the bottom. Spinach, Kale, Mustard Greens if you want a little spiciness. Anything really
Either a cup of fruit and a cup of vegetables or two cups of fruit. lately Ive been using V8 low sodium vegetable juice
Water or almond milk. usually go for the almond milk.
Then whey protein and chia seeds or flaxseed powder.0 -
I try to keep the sugar content down as much as possible.
My go to formula for a good smoothie:
1 - 2 cups almond milk, water, or green tea
1 cup fruit
2 cups greens
1/2 scoop protein powder
2 Tbsp chia seed
2 Tbsp flaxseed (ground)0 -
I have a hard time eating first thing in the morning, so I love having a smoothie for breakfast instead. As a result, mine tend to be "meal sized" and have around 250-300 cals in them.
This is my current favorite:
1 c unsweetened soy milk
1 half cucumber, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1/3 grapefruit
2 c fresh spinach or kale
1 c frozen pineapple
For a simpler, quick one, I also like:
1 c unsweetened soymilk
1 tbs natural peanut butter
1 tbs cocoa powder
1 frozen banana
Enjoy!0 -
My go-to smoothie:
Frozen Kale
Frozen Mango
Banana
Almond Milk
Hemp protein powder
Sometimes I'll add almond or cashew butter and leave out the protein powder.0 -
Bump to add more recipes!0
