NutriNinja, about $80.0

I have a variant of the Ninja Master Prep food processor/blender, with one large and one small container. I've been quite pleased so far. I was a little dubious about its having the motor on top, and only one speed; but it's worked well and been easy to clean.
I have that one too, I love it ! I use it for smoothies and much more.
I suggested the NutriNinja as it's made for smoothies. You make them in the same to-go cup as you drink them from.0 -

Save up and get a vitamix. You can order refurbished ones from the website at a deep discount, they come with 5 year warrantees and handy dandy extras. We've had ours for 7 years, still kicks *kitten* with no problems, plus they hold their value really well, so if you ever wanted to upgrade you could sell it and get a nice chunk of money to put towards a new one.0

Love my Ninja. Look online and you can get it without all of the additional accessories. Mine for approximately $150 came with blender, two cups, mixing bowl and 3 or 4 blades.0

I personally prefer the small one serving blenders. You can throw both the blade and the cup(s) right in the dishwasher. I hate cleaning blenders, I also hate the space a big one takes up. The single serving blenders are as strong as the big ones. I make a protein smoothie with huge chunks of frozen fruit and it blends great. I've had it a couple of years now and with every other day use, no problems. Plus it's under $100.

Right now, I have a really pathetic blender that doesn't do much. So I'm spending a ton of money on protein smoothies because I'm obsessed with them. Payday is Friday, so I want to get a good blender that will make good fruit smoothies. I'd prefer to spend less than $100 on it. Any suggestions?
I was going to suggest Vitamix, then I saw your less than $100 limit.
As someone who just received a Vitamix for my birthday, I would say save up something from each pay period - say $25 - if you can and buy a decent blender. Could be Vitamix or Blentec, you will not regret it.
In the meantime, use the pathetic blender - Rome was not built in a day.
+1
I have a a Blendtec and it is superb. Best investment I made in a long time! You can get them refurbished.

I bought my 1100 watt Ninja blender for $140 and I guarantee its already paid for itself. However I've seen the 1000 watt Ninja at best buy on sale for $100. I cant tell you how much I love this blender. I can make almost ANYTHING in it. Shop around and keep an eye out for sales! Even check places that you might not think like Kohls and Macy's. They usually have decently priced kitchen items.0

I bought the $30 Oster from Costco and that seems to do the trick for me. I suspect the $100 ish Ninja they have there MIGHT be better for smoothies because they have high and low blades which would help with the movement of thick stuff but I have heard not so great things about the Ninja's motors failing so I went cheap (just a few isolated reviews, nothing horrible, just made me cautious of spending $100).
A big part of the equation is just figuring out how to work with what you have. I make pretty thick smoothies in mine and a lot of it has to do with how the ingredients are put in and how long to blend things for. Does no good for me to mix something up that's too thick to fit up a straw and my $30 blender can blend to maximum straw capacity.0 -
I've used a Cuisinart (about $100 blender several years ago), a classic Oster $39 blender, Ninja (400 watt, early version), a BlendTec (graduation gift to my daughter) and VitaMix (the shorter version that goes under the counter) and my hands down favorite for smoothies and blended drinks is the VitaMix. I would recommend saving the $100 you're going to spend on a Ninja and put it toward a Vitamix. You won't be disappointed 10 years from now...these things are workhorses.
Here's the model I bought. It's $399 and available for 4 interest-free payments on QVC. Free shipping.

I bought this Vitamix almost 5 years ago and it is the best kitchen tool I've ever owned. I've never had a problem but I hear that Vitamix has amazing customer service and warranty.0
