G'morning Runners! It's leg work and abs for me today. I did Shoulders & Arms (P90X) w/ my dh last night. I feel it already!

We're heading out of town today to my Mom's and planning a 5 mile run w/ my cousin tomorrow. Then I'm biking Sunday, I got a new road bike last week so I've been having fun biking also!

    Have a great weekend!

    Good morning fellow runners.

Had bootcamp this morning and we did a formation run. The entire group ran together and did various exercised along the way. I am going on vacation tomorrow and hope to some running in the outerbanks while I am gone but I don't know if I will have access to a computer to post. Have a great weekend and awesome week next week. I will see ya when I get back.

    Morning all:

No run for me again. Taking a total rest day (I think). Could change later.

Mireille: A gym membership sounds great. I love my gym and go almost everyday. I find it so motivating. And I have a well-equiped gym at home, but rarely go down and use it, the TV is just not as motivating as having others around you working their butts off.

    Jess: Have a great weekend.

    Sherry: Have a great vaca!

doing a crazy military workout today. 1 hour of hell is my nickname for it.

I'm gonna do about 20 minutes of 4 corners today.
  • It's FRIDAY.... so that means no workout right???? WRONG, I'm running today at chow. If I don't do it here at work, when I get home tonight since it's a Friday I know I won't do it... Atleast i'm being honest with myself!!!

So a 3 or 4 mile run for me... TGIF everyone... have a great day!!!

    Hi all,

I'm doing weights and elliptical today and maybe a little swimming too. I have a million errands to run before we leave Sunday, so I should burn a few extra calories today. My daughter and her boyfriend left last night, so they'll be on the white sand beaches today, but we don't leave until Sunday.:glasses:

I'm really excited because usually we never go anywhere. The only vacations I've ever gone on have revolved around my husband or kids' sports. I went to Hawaii with my husband's basketball team once, we went to the Little League World Series in Michigan when my daughter was twelve, and we've been to Las Vegas and California for volleyball tournaments and basketball tournaments for my son. So this trip to Jamaica should be pretty fun!

I plan to work out while we're there, but I also plan to not worry too much and just have fun, so we'll see how it goes.:drinker:

  • Goodness gracious hessied... I'm a Marine, but I do have to admit, I CAN NOT run at that pace, and it is mandarory that I DO 3 miles in less than 31 minutes... I get that no problem...well I get it in like 28-29 minutes... but I would love to be in the 24-25 minute range... I don't know if I will ever get there.... :embarassed:

You can COMPLETELY get there, LMK! You're practically there already. I recently read this article on Runner's World about 5K running - http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-244-259-11738-0,00.html - maybe it will be helpful to you to get your down into that 25 minute range when you are being timed. I tried starting out faster my last 5K and I improved my time from my last race. I'm a newbie at this running thing, though! Maybe someone else has more good advice! Other than that...just stick with it!

  • Hi all,
I know I haven't been here in the morning lately. Now that I am back to work, don't have time for anything. :noway:

For those who were reading mine, my mom is being released from hospital today, so I don't have to go to Las Vegas. But I may be going to Havasu instead to see her. I think she is doing good, we will see.

I didn't run today and I feel guilty now. I will try and get in some treadmill today or if it stays cloudy maybe still be able to get out. Just kind of don't know today. Just not into it I guess. I need somthing to get me going!
Been at the same weight now for 2+ weeks, kind of bummed about that. Been doing good on calories and working out, just reached a stop point I guess and waiting it out. I am hoping any day now it will start to come off again.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!:drinker:  :drinker:

    Hey Strawberry.

Hope your mom is doing better soon.

Sorry you're feeling kind of bummy (is that even a word?? ) today. Don't get discouraged, though. You are doing so well with your running. That weight WILL come off. The whole plateau thing stinks, doesn't it? I think Banks posted something recently about getting over them. I hung out at the same weight for months, just recently I dropped a couple of pounds again. I figured as long as I wasn't gaining that was good, right? :ohwell:

Try to get out there today! You can do it, girl! Have a GREAT weekend!!

Great run, Ali! It's amazing how much harder it is to run w/ the jogger. I used to take my youngest dd in the jogger and I was always amazed when I went out solo how much faster I ran! Good luck!

Rest day for me today. Will join my running club for a run/walk tomorrow. First attempt to run since I hurt my knee. I am alittle nervous but will just take it easy.

Thank you, as it turns out she is doing pretty good and should be home by now. I talked to her on her cell phone on her way and she sounded pretty good. Still a little slurry from her little stoke, but all in all she is in great spirits. I decided not to go and maybe will see her next weekend. I am just not up to in as far as everything goes, emotionally, physically and everything else. And she didn't mind at all, so I feel better now.
I am going to get up and run for sure in the morning now. I am in a better place now and I know I will be good tomorrow.
    Thanks,
    SM

Strawberry -- I hop on here late too most days (mainly cause my time difference) so I feel ya!

Cheer up! Some days it's just not in the cards and it's good to have rest days... speaking of which - today was my rest day.

Decided to do a 5K Monday for fun we'll see how that goes since I haven't been training for it, specifically, but doing a 10K training program and just decided we'll have to see how that works for me! Should be fun - it's a Poker run!!

    Take care!
