Vacation weekend, how do I keep on track?

I plan to stay at maintenance or under if I can since I wont be doing any exercise other than walking around (have my FitBit for that).
I don't want to change MFP for 4 days to maintain calories, so if I calculated right I base it on my TDEE? I have written down 2182?
I am 5'3", currently 157lbs, 24yrs old, female.

if your weight loss goal setting is too 1lb/week, then add 500 to the number mfp gives you to get maintenance, .5 lb/week add 250, 2 lbs/week add 1000
i got 1970 from iifym for your maintenance calorie intake0 -

Thank you! I felt like 2182 was too high.0 -
To aswer the title question....you don't. It's a vacation. You're supposed to enjoy it. It's just one weekend, don't track it and get back to tracking when you come back.0

I recently vacationed in New Orleans, and it was TOUGH! One of the things that helped for me was pre-packing (and having with me at all times) healthy snacks for when I was hungry but it wasn't meal time yet. So, for example, I counted out fat-free pretzels into snack-sized Ziplock bags in 100 calorie increments. Then, I had a good snack, and it was easy for my to track later.
I went over my calorie goal on some days, but I logged every bite, and that's the biggest thing. Just keep on logging.
Have a great vacation!!0 -
Vacations are meant to be enjoyed. Be mindful of your food, relax, and have fun. If you feel the need to track then eat at your maintenance calorie level.0

If you want to track at maintenance that's a smart plan you'll enjoy the extra calories. However I will say this, if you're on vacation don't be afraid to take a little break and have fun. One week or weekend will not destroy your total results and prove to you why calorie counting is so effective.
People quit diets because the restrictions add up and eventually they give up entirely. On this diet you can actually put it down for a weekend and have a little fun once in a while.0 -
I am mentally preparing for a vacation in a month, and I think the main thing is: ENJOY IT!!! Don't stress.
As for continuing losing weight while on vacation, don't expect to be perfect. Make healthy choices. Look up nutrition facts before you go to a restaurant so you can make conscious choices. Eat fruit and vegetables whenever possible. Drink lots of water.
Hope that helps and you have a great time!0 -
Were doing Disney World at the end of September, with the dining plan. I have no intention of tracking anything. One week, even on extreme week like I'm expecting, won't derail me that much. After 2-3 weeks of returning to normal it will all work out.
Plus, we'll be doing ALOT of walking.0 -
Go into restaurants/fast food with a plan and go into places with snacks. If you don't want to pre plan things, just remember moderation. Have fun!0

Just remember your TDEE also includes exercise... so if you're not exercising much err on the side of caution and eat a little less. Enjoy!0

My recommendation is to go on vacation and do not track calories.
Still track your food because studies have shown even doing that helps.
Take a little notebook with you and write down what you eat and estimated portion sizes.
You are on vacation, you don't want to be glued to your phone or computer.0 -
That is where we just went and we ate way too much!! I was going to do the healthy snacks but then decided to just go with it and enjoy myself. I mean seriously Cafe Du Monde with their beignets and cafe au lait!? Deliciousness!!!0
