I'm consistently under my weekly calorie total!

Hi I'm new to the forums and just wondered if anyone could advise me. I've been calorie counting plus exercise for about a month but MFP adds so many calories when I exercise that over a week I can be 2000 calories under my goal. Aiming for 1400/day to lose 1lb per week.
Should I try to use every calorie - it seems crazy to me to do this, but wondering if I'm under eating - no huge weight loss but clothes all loose so I'm guessing the scales are faulty?!
Many thanks

Most of us recommend eating only about half the calories you burn back. This is because many calculators over estimate burn significantly.

It depends. As Dana said, calories on MFP tend to be overestimated. It has been my experience that calories are overestimated on gym machines and internet calculators. What has worked best for me is buying a heart rate monitor, which renders calorie estimations anywhere from 100 to 250 calories less than MFP and gym machines. Figuring it all out takes some trial and error. Good luck.

Thank you both - I always skim some off anyway so bodycombat I say 500 not 662 etc I'm considering a monitor as I love figures and gadgets so yet another thing to become obsessed with! I can tell you the calorie content of most things I eat lately - rather sad!!

Only eat 50-60% of them back, this gives you wiggle room for overestimates of food intake and calorie burns
