Hello I was wandering if anybody who knew anything about this or experienced the same could offer some advice please ?
I am 23 and 5 feet tall and have gone from weighing close to 14 stone and having a BMI of nearly 40 to around 10 and a half stone and having a BMI of 29 ( i know i still have some way to go until im considered *healthy " in terms of BMI lol ) I have done this gradually and it has taken me around 3 /3 and a half years to loose this weight . I am now left with the problem with what i think is excess skin on my stomach area .Its not the worse excess skin I have seen i would describe it as a apron of skin
. I was wandering if anybody had found anything that aids excess skin as surgery is not a option for me . Does anyone know if any non surgical options work or have had any success doing other things ? I do go to the gym but unfortunately due to a injury can only do mainly upper body work at the moment i do lots of walking cycling to help strengthen my knee which was injured and lots of upper body weighs which my trainer at the gym says can help promote weight loss.
any advice or suggestions are welcomed thank you very much for your help in advance

There are many intermingling factors involved such as genetics, amount of weight loss, how quickly it was lost, age, diet, etc.
Continue strength training and stay hydrated. Give it a year or two and see where you stand, it may tighten up to a level you can be comfortable with.0 -
Whatever you do don't run to surgery right away. If your excess skin is moderate to light then there is a chance that the skin will contract a bit over the course of a year or two. If after that the skin gets worse or not any better then its not gonna get any better. You can do some hardcore ab exercises and it add tone to that area and make it appear less saggy. If you really want to get that area in shape do some Kettlebell workouts. Makes your abs feel like they are on fire and my friend got her stomach ripped doing nothing but that.
There are a lot of "wraps" out there that supposedly help people with loose skin, I can't vouch for them as my situation I will need to have surgery most likely since I started at 530lbs and there is no way my skin is going back the natural way. You can look into the wraps and they are not terribly expensive so it might not be bad to try once or twice, but I am always skeptical about that kind of stuff.
Congrats on the weight loss!0 -
