Hi, I am new, 52, and confused about what to eat. I am looking forward to meals that are quick and will help me lose instead of gain. I have a membership to the Golds Gym in American Fork, Ut and if anyone knows of something to do there that might catch my interest in going, I would like to hear about it. Look forward to hearing from anyone that could help me get motivated.

Greetings and welcome to this site!

I'm 50 and have about 40lbs to loose to reach goal...for nutrition information I use the gov't site, "mypyramid.gov".

Myfitnesspal is my home base, the food diary is most helpful with meal planning and keeping caloric intake in weight loss range...there are alot of great people here who are very supportive and informative.

I work out at home now, I like to blast my music and I don't like to wear shoes...I bellydance, weight train and practice a little Fluidity and Yoga...I used to work out at gyms...they usually have great equipment for cardio and weight training...weight training strenghtens our bones as well, (I just learned that from a young lady here who is college educated in the fitness field), and that's good motivation for women our age, and when you become a serious regular at the gym you establish some nice friendships as well.

    Teammate,

    Try this site:
    http://www.exercisefriends.com/home.aspx

if you want a gym buddy. Also, ask your gym if they have a buddy system.

    Best of luck.
