Chicken Breast Nutritional Info?

I seem to get varying amounts for chicken breasts.
Essentially the breasts I get are from wholesaler's and come frozen, with no skin.
Why are there such discrepancies on the app? I just want to know the nutritional info after it's been grilled; i.e. 100g of grilled chicken breast

Weigh it raw or frozen raw (mostly same weight). Cooked chicken breasts can sometime vary in calories per 100g depending on how dry you cooked it.0

Yeah but surely weighing it frozen will not give uniform, consistent results among all raw chicken breasts, because of water weight etc as you mentioned, however a 100g of grilled chicken breast will be the same across the board will it not?0 -

No, 100 g cooked will not be as consistent as weighing raw. How I cook my chicken and how you cook yours could mean a big difference in raw vs. cooked weight. I like mine pretty juicy and cook it for the bare minimum to be completely done, usually sear it first. I cooked 30 oz raw weight chicken yesterday and ended up with 24.5 oz cooked weight. If my mom was cooking that chicken she would have probably ended up with about 20 oz cooked weight, no kidding.
Yes, water weight will vary, but that's why I always say to use the NI for the food you purchase. Some have more water than others. If yours says may contain up to 10% solution, then I'd search for a raw weight that matches this or choose one of the lower calorie per weigh options (probably in the 130-140 per 4 oz range). If you use this chicken a lot and it doesn't have NI on the label, contact the food manufacturer to get the information.0 -

Most all frozen meat and many fresh, have the amount per serving and the serving size listed on the package, so you need to read what you are eating and then weigh it.0 -

No, 100 g cooked will not be as consistent as weighing raw. How I cook my chicken and how you cook yours could mean a big difference in raw vs. cooked weight. If one grilled chicken breast was cooked less and one more, they could both be 100 g, but the one cooked less would have more moisture, so a higher percentage of its weight would be water and not meat. Thus, it would have fewer calories.
If you cook your meat normally, not extremely well done, it probably doesn't make that much difference, but if so it's really important to make sure that you are using the cooked entry and not the raw entry. If you use a raw entry you will be understating the size and as a result calories.
Also, use the good MFP one from the USDA that reads something like "chicken, breast, meat only, cooked, dry heat (or maybe roasted, I don't recall if there's a grilled or pan fried one like this, but it shouldn't matter)." It should have no asterisk and lots of confirmations. There are lots of user-inputted ones, some which are fine, some which are wack.0 -

It's not really all that arbitrary, it will just vary from manufacture to manufacturer based on their packaging/preparation methods. That's why I suggested earlier to use the ni from the package YOU have and if it doesn't have ni, contact the manufacturer as the information should be available. Some of the chicken I buy is 120 calories per 4oz raw and some is 140. I log accordingly.0 -

What if the chicken is bought from a local butchers, they don't contain any nutritional information. What do I do then?0 -
our local butcher said to use the USDA database. he buys the whole animal and butchers it himself, so he said the USDA data was close enough.0

Yes, I use the USDA data. That's the entry described in my post above. (I get my meat from a farm, so no nutrition info.)
All of this is an estimate to some extent. The only major error--other than using some of the wacky entries in the database--would be using a raw entry for cooked meat, as the weight is going to be substantially different.0
