8 hour diet...?

So I am trying this out for a week. I am on day three, almost time for lunch and my time start eating. The 16 hours fasting and 8 hour window to eat. I think it will cut back on excess calories for me. I snack throughout the day usually. I am not eating binge eating on tons of unhealthy food. And I put some whole milk in my decaf coffee this morning. I definitely feel less bloated or hard in the mid section which is a plus to say the least.

Has anyone else tried this?

Are you willing to keep this up as a lifestyle forever? Are you willing to fast for 16 hours a day every day, and only have eight hours to eat for the rest of your life?

If you are doing this to lose weight, once you go back to old habits, the weight will creep back on. I would consider if this is sustainable for you in the long run, and if it is not, to find something that you can sustain in the future.

Intermittent Fasting. There is an entire group on here dedicated to it.

I naturally do it, and have been doing it for years. Other than late night drinks or snacks (at a club or watching shows). When I cut back on those, my natural eating habits fall into 16:8.

Coffee in the morning. First meal at noon. Last meal around 6:30/7:00.

It is a way to help keep some control if you find yourself constantly going overboard with late night snacking and such.

I fast for 8 hours every night.
Meh, whatever gets you through the day. Obviously it's not a long term thing. Stay under your calories in that 8 hour window and BAM! Weight loss.

It is for a lot of people. In fact, IF has helped quite a few members lose and maintain.

That said, I don't do it. But meal timing and frequency is a preference thing and no one over another is healthier.

Thanks... No I'm not looking for a lifetime commitment right now. But I would consider limiting what time I start eating and end eating for a lifetime. With the exception of special occasions.

Eh, this is pretty much intermittant fasting.
Some have talked about dong this, 16:8. To me, this would be almost the exact same as a regular diet of having to count calories at a deficit each day as 8 hours of having an open windo to eat is similiar to what I had always done.

I do the alternate day fasting of 24 hour cycles where I fast 3 times a week, eat at TDEE 4 times a week and it has been working amazingly
