Calories on package vs. calories on My Fitness Pal

Why are the calories listed on foods in My Fitness Pal different with what is printed on the packages of food you purchase in stores?

Just wonodering,

Jim

Because people enter them, and sometimes they enter them wrong. You can edit them or make your own entry.

Also sometimes the manufacturer will change their product slightly, and it will end up a different number of calories.

I normally edit the entry when I notice an error. This helps me and the entire MFP group. Multiple entries make it confusing sometimes too.

Someone mentioned before that other countries could have different calorie counts for the same products depending on various factors.
