There are only two in my area and those are 24hr and Lifetime.
I am trying to weigh out each one, but I can't decide.
help!?

What's your area? Most gyms are franchised so they vary greatly from gym to gym within the same brand. A 24 hour fitness could be awesome one place and suck in another.0

U can try checking to see if there is a Planet Fitness in ur area. Ive joined the gym about a week ago now and I love the atmosphere and the equipment they offer. It also doesnt hurt that they are very inexpensive.0

Go to both of them and see. Gotta see what they are.0

I go to LA fitness, and HIGHLY recommend it- there are 2 located in Dallas, so i'd go check them out. It's only like 32 bucks a month, unlimited classes. It's great!0

I've been to both, they both have what I need. But Lifetime has more to offer, so I was leaning towards them, but I thought I'd ask for opinions before I signed.0 -
The best gym is the one you'll go to. But really, they do vary from place to place. If Lifetime offers what you need and will use, definitely go there!0

I bet there are more, but those are just two of the bigger names. I am sure there are other smaller places around. I just looked into lifetime out here-wow. That is an impressive gym. I wish I knew more about it before I got my membership to Golds.0

I prefer 24 hour fitness. Their swimming pool is slightly larger than LA Fitness. I like that 24 hr fitness is open 24/7. There's no excuse not to go!! Lol. The people are friendly but for the most part they don't bother you unless you need their help (instructions how to use a specific machine, etc.). And they have a wide variety of equipment there too!0

I just looked up some of the smaller gyms in my area, I found a Lady of America gym. Women only, free child care, sauna, tanning beds, measurement taking and all that fun stuff is free (included with membership). They don't have a pool, but I'm not worried about that. I am in no way ready to get into a bathing suit!
Plus it is heck of a lot smaller then 24hr and all those other big gyms.

I had a membership to LA Fitness and it had everything I needed. Cardio equip, free weights, machines, pool, showers, lockers.. I did a free trial at Lifetime as well and it has a lot more to offer, but just keep in mind you'll most likely be paying double the amount of any other gym. Also, Lifetime is partnered with Medica so if you have them they reimburse $20 a month for you as long as you show up 12 times a month.0
