I'm looking into a HRM and the two I hear the most about are the ft7 and the Garmin. Does anyone have any experience with either of these and could help guide my decision? Thanks.

I've used two of the Polar FT HRMs and currently have the FT4. It's great, it does absolutely everything I want it and have never had any problems with them.
I've heard Garmin are also really good but I always seem to associate them more with running because quite a lot of their models have the GPS.

I use Garmin, I have a FR610 which iuse mostly for running and a Edge 500 for cycling, The HRM modle i am using is the old one which connects to both devices with out any issues. Garmin have cme out with a newer version of the chest strap which is softer and more user friendly.

Both devices are GPS enabled with the FR610 being able to swap from running to cycling. The newer version FR620 is only for running.

I've also got the FT7 and find it's reliable, also works automatically with the gym equipment at my gym (The Gym Group).
The only times it doesn't work is if I get too hot, and that's purely through it moving off my chest.
