So I love, love, love red potatoes but 120calories for a single untreated potato! Say it isn't so! How do you fellow potato lovers deal with this?

I just make room for them, I love my spuds. 120 for my "carb" for a meal is not too bad!0

I make room.
I live in an area of Canada known as potato country.
At the moment we have "new" potatoes...so they are small...I can eat lots of those bbq'd with olive oil.
Last night I did just that...they were nom nom.0 -
I eat them as part of a balanced diet0

Just eat ONE potato per meal? Max two, depends on calorie space you have.0

Fit them in several times a week....... :drinker:0

Red potatoes are actually good for your diet 1-2 times a week I wouldn't do anymore then that, but its the regular potatoes you want to stay away from, not sure what they are called the ones with brown skin lol so eat up.0

I love yellow potatoes. I have them several times a week with sour cream. Delicious. You have to fit them in, but they are rich in potassium!0

Pretty much what they all said, and exercise. Burn the carbs off within 2 hours of the meal and you should be all set.0

I make room for all the things I like to eat, potatoes included, by adjusting my other foods around them. There's no need to deny yourself anything - just watch your portion sizes.
Also it's best to weigh all foods using a digital food scale rather than estimating the size of one potato and finding a database entry for it. Be precise and you might be pleasantly surprised.0 -

Life's too short to worry about a couple of spuds... Just enjoy them as part of your eating plan0 -
mmmm...new potatoes...with butter and dill. Can't wait until the new potatoes are ready here.
That said, I don't eat potatoes often anymore. One of the reasons I started this journey is I was showing insulin resistance, so I try to avoid the high GI carbs. I'm not into complete deprivation however, so I do treat myself to a half a baked potato sometimes when we BBQ. I just fit it into my goals for the day if I know it's coming.0 -
First, I weigh them, because potatoes come in a variety of sizes and the calories for, say, a medium don't tell me much. Otherwise, I just make it fit. 120-150 additional calories at dinner (or less with smaller potatoes) isn't much and for me often makes dinner more filling.0

Most potatoes are actually way more than 120 calories, to be honest. 148 grams is a SMALL potato.0
