HI Folks,

I'm looking for awesome Jewish friends here. Secular to Hasidic ;-). I am not Jewish myself (although hubby is thinking of converting to Orthodox before) but just want to be surrounded with like minded people. I love everything Jewish and although I don't speak Hebrew yet I use Jewish wisdom to guide me through life as well my journey to weight loss too.

    I'm an ethnic Jew who was raised as a Catholic because my grandparents woke up one day and decided to be Catholic. I have to say that I find your fascination bordering on obsession and more than a bit odd.

    As for your husband - I've never heard of a successful conversion to Orthodox Judaism unless he was born and raised in some other Jewish tradition (reform, for example, and even then it's very difficult).

    Are you planning on converting or is thinking about Judaism just a hobby?

    Hi Nancy,

    We are not thinking of converting (at least for the moment). The 613 commandments alone will rattle a neophyte to some degree. If a Gentile don't want to convert then you fall under Noachide (google for details pls. ;-) )

    So as a Noachide, I believe in the teachings of Judaism this is something profound to be called a hobby.

    Just to be clear I am not here for religious aspect. I'm simply looking for Jewish friends. So I choose not to answer questions to expound my personal beliefs here on the boards.
