Varicose veins

I always had these green visible veins across my body since a kid. But offlate i am noticing veins that are bulged on the back side of the leg below the knee.
Does anyone have the same problem and would exercise reduce it.
Any advice would be of great help.

Exercise can help, but the most important things are to reduce the pressure. Wear support hose, elevate legs when possible, reduce walking/standing.

If they are painful, I would go see a doctor.

You can get them removed if they are painful.

They can also mean an issue with blood flow. Lots of people who get it are genetically predisposed to it. So if you have a family history of heart issues, it may be something you want to get checked out just to be on the safe side.

My mom has it too, but no one in the family has heart issues. I read that varicose veins could be heriditary. I was hoping to have a way to reduce it with exercise.

I'm 26 and have had them (the spider veins, not varicose) since I was 12 or so.

I have horrible bulging varicose veins and have had them since I was in my late 20's. I worked at a job where I was on my feet 10 hours a day and overweight which caused the veins to bulge. Plus, it runs in my family. I did not wear compression hose and wish I would have.

When I dropped 50 lbs, they became more visible. I saw a doctor about them (they're not painful for me, just unsightly) and he said they're more visible because I was losing the fat around them. Eventually, I'll get enough money to have them stripped.

Support socks, even mild support, greatly improves circulation and gives a burst of energy in that leg. I know they're not fashionable but if you're wearing pants..who cares.

Pretty much hereditary in my family. I've had them since I was about 15. I had schlerotherapy (dye), which did wonders. However, since losing 42 pounds I notice new ones. I'm sure they were always there but are visible now due to fat loss. I wear shorts anyway because I don't care what people think (and nobody is paying attention anyway), but this thread reminds me to email my doctor for a referral to vein specialist.

Never be embarrassed about your body under any circumstances.

Looks like Iam not alone. I guess I need to buy compression socks and see if that helps.
I think I have a mix of both varicose and spider veins. To add up to these. I have cellulite too and something called chicken skin.
And I am noticing it's getting worser. Sigh!

I was prescribed compression hose (20-30 mmHg compression) by my doctor - but heard you can buy them like at walmart - mine are knee high and I have been wearing them about 1-1/2 months daily for swelling in my legs/feet - I cannot explain what a difference they have made - I used to have pain in my legs daily - I'm sure the combination of exercising and eating better has helped, but I swear by compression hose now!! - some people don't like anything 'tight' on their legs - I can't even tell I have them on - they made my legs feel better the first time I put them on - Best of luck to you!
