I think it depends on which brand you buy, but I find there is just too much sodium in deli lunchmeat for me, as in any processed food.

You'd be better off buying your own turkey breast, roasting it, carving it, and using that instead.

I think if the turkey is oven roasted it is better for you, and turkey bacon is a better choice than regular Bacon. As far as it being processed I have no Idea...

Turkey bacon is so much better for you and super yummy, but very processed.

You can usually get all the info you want about a product like that from the manufacturers website. I used to LOVE the ham and turkey from Publix (Boar's Head brand). Even though I was buying the "Lower Sodium" varieties, they were still putting me over on sodium. I have high blood pressure, so this is a no-no for me. I bought a Purdue oven roaster whole chicken (huge) from Publix and plan to roast it today, slice it up and use it for sammies this week. I made one at Christmas instead of a turkey and there was nothing left. It was so moist and delicious. My family devoured it and asked me to start making it as a regular meal. Just an idea?

They are processed but better alternatives to bacon and cured ham. At my deli they rolled over all the turkey packages that they slice from and I couldn't find one with low sodium. They honestly didn't seem to mind so it may not be an unusual request. I crock pot a chicken or roast on alternating weeks to use the meat in recipes, salads etc. Otherwise, there is little avoiding the high sodium in those meats.

Try buying a half of a turkey breast and slow cooking it in your crock pot. It's very delicious and you know what's in it. Makes for the best turkey sandwiches ever.
