5 food to not eat?

I read yesterday about 5 food to never eat when trying to lose weight, 1 was bannanas and another was soy milk. This has confused me as I have both of these daily and am worried it will get in the way of me loing weight. Does anyone know if there is any truth in it?

if any article begins with what NOT to eat i usually skip it. i already know what not to eat...frankenfood, bananas aren't frankenfood0 -
I would agree with the 'foods not to eat', but would add a disclaimer:
"Don't eat these foods... and think they don't count towards your calorie total." Beyond that, dig in. Sure, if you eat a dozen bananas a day and think they are 'free', you'll kill your calorie deficit but that's the only way they are 'bad' for your diet.0 -

I am at a loss as to why there are bad foods, especially bananas.
Soy milk I get to a point for anyone who has an intolerance or allergy to it, like myself but there are no inherently "bad" foods.0 -

Calories in vs. calories out will help you lose weight. The type of calories you eat and when you eat them will help change your body composition. If you eat a banana and it's within your calorie count, you will lose pounds. If you eat a banana right before or after a workout and it's within your calorie count, you will lose pounds, but will probably also lose inches.0

Never eat puffer fish that wasn't prepared by an expert chef trained in its preparation, as well as CPR and other basic life-saving skills.
Actually, you're probably better off just not eating it. You'll save a lot of money that way, too.
Seriously, though, those lists of "x foods to avoid" are generally full of crap, and it's also likely that the author wants to sell you something unnecessary. Avoid foods that make you sick or that you are allergic to, and eat the things you enjoy in portions that are appropriate for your daily intake goals.
Soy milk is controversial because of potential hormonal issues caused by the soy, but bananas are fine, to the best of my knowledge. A lot of people say to avoid them because they are quite starchy, so if you're trying to reduce your carb intake, you might want to avoid or at least limit them. But otherwise...

Oh definitely serious. Those foods should be banned from the universe. It's just too hard to consider their calories when I have to subtract a certain amount after gagging in the toilet.0
