Hi all. I am Colleen. I am almost 36, married almost 12 years and have a combined total of 5 children. I had surgery to remove a cyst in my thyroid in October 2010 and it caused a chain reaction of bad medical problems. Finally it was determined, the remaining portion of my throid is not working. My doctor has put me on medication to correct that, however, the adverse reactions have caused other problems that now must also be changed. We are hoping to control cholesterol and sugar symptoms with a change in diet. He has recommended I reduce my calories to 1500 per day and begin exercizing no less than 20 minutes per day.

So... here's to my new life. It will not be easy but I will do he says and hope I don't need more medications. :indifferent:

Thanks ladies. I found the app in the market for my droid and started using it today. Doc wanted me to start yesterday but I wasn't able to get my synthroid until yesterday afternoon so I decided one extra day would not kill me. I really think the ability to track through my phone will be a huge bonus for me. Now I just need the added reminders and encouragement.
