Do pickles count as vegetables?

I mean...pickles come from cucumbers and all but somehow they don't seem like veggies.

So are they veggies?

Does fruit in a pie still count as fruit?

  Cucumbers don't even count as vegetables, they're all water, so I wouldn't count pickles as vegetables. They are extremely delicious though...

  I was feeling way to lay to cook brussel sprouts tonight and laughed at myself as I ate a bunch of gherkins instead...LOL
