Training for a 10k in 10 weeks

Hey guys,
With the begining of the new year, and a new go-getter perspective on life I finally signed up for a 10k that I have always wanted to run. I ran one last May in 1 hour 16 minutes or 12ish mph, which is not bad considering I had limited training.
This time, I've signed up with Track Shack Five and Dime which is a twice a week training group that concentrates on 5k and 10k runs. Hopefully that will help with the motivation, because my goal is to finish in under 60 minutes.
Anybody care to join me in the training?? I am going to begin posting a blog on my journey. Add me and check it out! Also, I'd love to hear any ideas, advice for improving enduration and speed or even an overall training plan that has worked well for you.

Wow! Impressive goal! I just finished my first 5k race today and am going to start working towards a 10k for March or April. I don't have a training plan and would be interested to know how you are going to work your way up to your goal.0

Whoops! I meant 1 hour and 16 minutes. I only wish I had that kind of ambition. lol Congrats on your 5k! How'd it go? As far as a training plan. I started a couple weeks ago doing 20-30 mintues (including warm up/cool down) of 3 min running/1 minute walking splits twice a day. So far, I really like the 2 a day training because it breaks things up and it seemes like it is helping with my endurance level. I also really like how Jeff Galloway trains runners. I think you can go onto his website or type him int google and he has some 10k training programs. Other than that, I'm just trying to get out there and run and bump my intervals/distance each week.0
