MFP makes keeping my calories down fun and easy, but...

What I'm curious to know is, did anyone else start out feeling like this was a super fun game? And like it was so easy to not eat too much, a breeze, in fact it was slightly difficult to even increase your calories to reach the goal while watching everything and being able to record it quickly and easily?

...And did they later find it to be an annoying chore and hard work? Or does it continue to be fun and breezy? I'm still in the honeymoon stage with it so I'm just curious as to whether that feeling is going to disappear.

I feel the same way! For me, it's like a puzzle to solve so there's that extra little reward when it's complete
I'm almost 90 days in and I still think it's fun, I guess because every day is different. It'll be interesting to hear from people who have been doing this for a year or more.

    Good luck on your journey!

Also, there are many more people on here that are more qualified to give you detailed advice, but even though you're trying to lose weight I think you should be eating more calories during the day.. at least if your diary is 100% correct. Just a suggestion :flowerforyou:

I've found it more that the honeymoon fun wears off and by that time it's just a habit. I don't find it a chore, and I'm quite good now at making good choices when I can't log in advance. I have the occasional day where I don't log at all, but generally it's just second nature now.

Hahah I thought I was nuts!! I see it as a game. The calories are points and the more I exercise the more points I earn. It's this awesome challenge to balance the calories :) Lately I've been challenging myself to eat more protein :) I get it though and it kind of makes it fun:drinker:

    NOPE

I was like I'M EATING DOUBLE MY TARGET?!?! WTF food adds up this quick?!?!

Now logging takes probably less than two minutes of my time per day and the rest of MFP time is spent stalking forums.

That's what people keep telling me :P... but with my work and social activity it's actually really hard. Maybe I should buy foods for my fridge and cupboard with slightly higher calories next time? For now I plan to just wait and see what happens letting these happen as they are... if I start to feel fatigued or if I'm losing weight too fast, I'll rethink how much I'm eating. It's difficult to avoid going over my goal in fat/carbs while still coming close to my calorie goal. I do take in what honestly feels like a fair amount of food... plenty of snacks, usually a small breakfast with two larger meals during the day. But it's still not enough. I never feel hungry though, except in the mornings as I don't eat after 8 o'clock.

I like it still i'm on day 10. I consider it a puzzle on what food combinations I can make to meet my macros. Last night's dinner in my Diary was beautiful and tasty mmmm

I've been on here for a year and a half and after the fun wears off, it's just a habit. Good luck to ya! I haven't lost much weight but I'm down 2 sizes.:flowerforyou:

Like others have said. Sometimes it's a little tedious but it becomes habit. And after 6 months I still have fun planning my days out sometimes.
