I started at 171 about four years ago. I then lost a lot was down to about 110. Now in a year I've gained 50 pounds. I'm about 160 right now and I've had some serious binge eating behavior. I'm ready to get thi weight of me and never return to this horrible cycle of weight yoyoing. I seriously don't even know what's wrong with me when I get into binge mode, I just kept telling myself that " it's ok, I'll just be happy being fat" I tell myself I'm just bound to gain all the weight back so why even try In the first place .i just spent all my money on this health food and this hcg stuff it's seriously my only option I can't keep living this way it's time to grow up and stop defeating myself. Has anyone out there dealt with this depression? How do you get out of it? Anyone successfully lost the weight again and kept it off this time? I'm sorry if this post is bipolar but I just feel like I need to get this off my chest. I don't even care what the number on the scale says I just want to be happy and healthy again and stop sabotaging myself. I want this for life I really do. I don't know what happened that part of me just gives up and I go into another dimension in where my good judgement deludes me and I just eat whatever I want. I don't want to be that person anymore . I want health and happiness and body mind serenity. I need this. I deserve to be happy. I don't know where I am going with this I just hope someone out there hears me.

I understand! I am in the same situation!! I am going through exactly what your going through, the yoyo dieting loosing gaining then loosing and then gaining. I tell myself similar things. I have major depressive disorder., and I think that plays a huge part in my weight, and Im sick of it. I am just ready to be skinny and have a peace of mind. Will write more late. Can't wait to hear from you!!0

Just be mindful of what you put into your body. Read the ingredients and what the ingredients do to/for your body. Try to shop only on the outside of the store and don't buy processed foods. Fresh fruits and veggies and proteins are the best bet. I started eating Paleo 14 months ago and I have lost 53 lbs. I just made up my mind I was no longer going to be held hostage by the crap "food" that is on the shelves. At first you might feel like crap because you will go through a sort of withdrawl, but give it two weeks and you will feel amazing. You don't need that HCG crap either. Best luck to you!0

HCG won't help. It's a scam. You lose weight because you go on a very low calorie diet. And that is dangerous with depression. I suffer from depression, ptsd, ocd, and anxiety. If I ate that few amount of calories and injected myself with some random hormone, everything would get worse. Diet can be EXTREMELY important for those of us who deal with depression. Do not do this!0

You are not on this journey by yourself. Hello my name is ______. Fill in the blank here. I am determined to loose weight. And determined to undermine my efforts along the way. How many can relate. This is one of countless sites. All looking for the same thing. Advice, Compassion, Understanding and a key to success. Most of us know the tricks. Eat right, eat less, and get moving. But what we don't want to do is the real work. It took me years to finally go to a therapist that specializes in weight loss. Wow what a difference. To begin to understand how I really feel about me, my childhood, my parenting skills, my everything. For me that has been huge. I didn't realize I put myself on the back burner to the point of feeling guilty if I did something for me and me alone. Do your work. You binging, your depression, your weight. They are your keys to unlock the doors to your life. You can do it! And only you can, but you don't have to do it alone.0

You said you're doing this to be happy and healthy. Stop right there.
HCG is not a miracle. It will not change who you are inside. That's how you stop the cycle of self hate. By standing in that mirror and saying , "I'm good enough". What happens when you lose the weight and go off of it? The cycle will continue. It's madness.
A self defeating attitude will always derail you. Change your thought process. One step at a time, one day at a time. It will never be easy, but it'll be worth it. Successful people don't always succeed but what makes them successful is they get back up. Be that person. Don't fall for diet scams. They prey on that weakness. Be stronger than that.
I topped out at 190 lbs after I had both my kids. This time was different because I loved myself through the process. I fell in love with my fitness, rather than focusing on trivial things. I stood in front of the mirror and find the good, not the bad. You owe yourself that much. Sorry for the ramble. HCG can cause permanent damage to you. It is dangerous. Please dont continue the cycle0 -

^This.
You say you want to stop yoyoing, doing HCG is not going to help with this goal.
If you truly are ready to lose weight and do it in a healthy way, HCG is not the way to do it. Eat a moderate calorie deficit, get active and enjoy your life.0 -

Weight gain/loss, IMO, is 50% physical and 50% mental. I started losing weight, but I knew that would only go so far if I didn't fix how I felt on the inside too. I started to see a therapist and am happier and working thru my issues. Despite still being over weight I'm learning to love myself. You can too! Good luck.0 -

Please don't do HCG. It will not help with your goals to stop binging and to be healthy. I know a lot of people who did it and none of those stories ends well. There are a lot of people here who will help and support you. At least give this a try with just healthy calorie deficit. :flowerforyou:0

I'm sorry you spent all your money on this but 1) hcg has been clinically refuted as contributing to weight loss and 2) hcg is illegal without a prescription in the US. Whatever you have is likely fradulent or a scam if it claims to be hcg.0
-
Please do not do hcg diet. Yes you will lose weight if you do it and you will lose it rapidly but you can do yourself alot of harm by only eating 500 calories a day. I tried this diet when I was younger and it was a very dumb thing to do in hindsight. I did it with a few of my girlfriends and we all gained the weight back despite dieting and exercising. You will gain it back, you will exhibit binge behavior when you are done. It promises to be a cure all, as all supplements do and the people who make them in reality are just greedy and want your money.
You will be much healthier and feel better if you do this the fair and square way and learn about food and nutrition in the process. You will also be rewarded with the ability to keep the undesired weight off. Good luck and please think some healthy thoughts, I do not know you but I am sure you are a beautiful person who deserves to not do harm to themselves this way.0 -

Just want to point out that there are tons of "clinics" that will give you a prescription. That doesn't mean it's a good idea. My in-laws had no trouble getting multiple prescriptions, some of them for people who never even visited the "clinic"0 -
Thanks everyone for the kind words I really appreciate it.0

HCG does work, but it is not the best route to go. My mom knows a ton about how it works. You only eat 500 calories but the HCG does something to your body that makes it so your body doesn't go crazy. It's fast but it's hardly the best way to go. Even if you deviate once it can stop or you can gain weight really fast. Unless if you are spot on nutritionally your body can suffer. The first time I went on it I made some mistakes and I couldn't get my hands or feet to warm up for a few weeks. DO NOT do HCG if you do not know much about nutritional balance. I'm talking about vitamins, minerals, etc. also do not do HCG if you do not have lots of discipline. It sounds easy but it isn't.
The best way to go is to just exercise. I don't even need to diet because I make sure to get enough activity. I get a lot of help from my mom with the vitamins and supplements. It's not do much about how much you eat, it's more about your activity level and what you eat. You will feel a lot better about yourself if you do it naturally. HGC takes a lot of precise calculations and it's very restricting and if you mess up the post HCG maintanence you will gain weight very and I mean VERY fast.
Anyway, I hope this helps at least a little.0 -
I can also add to the bunch of people who say "Hello my name is ____ and I too have been there (yo-yoing back and forth). I know very well the feeling when you fell of the wagon and stop caring about weight. I have lost a stone about 10 times in the last 6 years and just gained it back every time.
I don't know what HCG diet is but I am having a turn of my mind by having started 5:2 diet which is basically 2 x 500kcal days a week and 5 days x at your TDEE creating a weekly calorie deficit. I am not a fan of starving myself permanently but I see it as an extreme calorie cycling and it resets my "full" button and also saves money and gives me a break about thinking of food constantly, so 3 weeks in is all good so far. It can be done for life too.
Good luck with whatever you decide.0 -

No, this is false. The research shoes that HCG does nothing that a 500 calorie diet alone wouldn't do. My relatives lost a lot of muscle (my father-in-law lost a large amount of heart muscle and is currently hospitalized), the women lost chunks of hair, and afterward none of them were able to lose weight in a healthy manner for a long time.0 -

I don't know what's in the bottle you bought, but I guess it doesn't matter since HCG doesn't do anything anyway. Sorry you wasted your money.0 -

Do you really, truly, honestly believe that doing an extreme very low calorie diet is going to "fix" your yo-yo dieting and binge eating?0 -

I started at 376 in April, 2011. I lost 115 pounds, then had skin removal surgery of 26 pounds so I was up to 141 pounds lost. Recovery from the surgery was more difficult than expected, and my dad passed away last year. So I backpeddled to where I gained back about 70 pounds. Yes I battle depression and take Lexapro for it.
First thing for me that had to stop was the negative self talk about how "I guess I'm just supposed to be fat."
Next thing that had to stop was pretty much what you said: Time to grow up and stop defeating yourself.
If your kid went towards a fire, you'd stop him and say "Don't get close to that, it'll hurt you." But we don't stop ourselves from going near the chocolate cake, or the brownies, cookies, shakes, nachos, buffalo wings, etc. etc. etc.
People are masters at rationalization and convincing themselves that they either deserve that chocolate cake, or that it's "just this once", yadda yadda yadda.
I'm not saying deny yourself favorite foods, but at the same time, set some parameters. My daughter LOVES the chocolate chip cookies at Paradise Café. I go there periodically and get a dozen cookies. When I get home, I put them in Ziploc bags. The standard rule is: She gets one a day. Usually it's at snacktime before bed. She knows this, and is okay with it. ONCE in a while, I might let her have one as dessert with lunch on a weekend, but that's a rarity.
I LOVE Queso. I don't keep it in the house though. I go to Don Pablo's once in a while and order the kid's size queso, count out 8 chips, and enjoy it. That's my fix. If there's something I really really can't get out of my head, I will try to put myself in a position where it's a "controlled environment" - like getting the queso at Don Pablo's.
It's about telling yourself that this is the path you're on. I remember going to see a dietician, and that month, I hadn't really "complied" with some of the direction she gave me, so she asked, "Do you want to lose weight?" I said, "Yes." and a little voice in my head said, "Then ACT like it."
We need to ACT like we want to lose weight. That's going to mean that we actually have to get uncomfortable. Losing weight isn't easy. There are a lot of things that aren't easy, but are worthwhile doing.
Personally, I know people who've done the hcg diet, and it's not something I would do. You only get 500 calories a day or something. For me, it might get you down to where you want to be, but staying there would present a challenge. But that's me.
I've considered lap-band surgery. Any sort of weight loss surgery requires people to change their eating habits. If I'm going to have to change my eating habits due to surgery, I can change them without surgery too. That's why I haven't had it yet.
I lost 141, gained back 70. Last week, I actually ACTED like I wanted to lose weight: I logged everything I ate; I drank my water. I focused on my protein intake and fiber intake; I wore my fitbit everyday; I made sure the "Calories In" line was under the "calories out" line; and lost 5 pounds. It really wasn't rocket science.
Whether or not you decide to do the hcg diet, you can do this...you can lose the weight.0 -
Just to repeat what others have said... Send it back. You don't even know what you are taking. You can do this! You can I promise. Log everyday, get on the community everyday, read about health and wellness and it will keep you focused.0

I did Hcg back in 2010. I lost 53 lbs in 6 months....along with alot of my hair!!! Yeah I looked thin and pretty decent but guess what....Ive regained it all back over the next couple years with an additional 9 lbs added. It was far from being my miracle or cure. I would not recommend it. I did the drops which I bought locally. Whether there was really anything in the drops or if it was the crazy 500 calories I was consuming I dont know. It doenst matter. It didnt stay off. For sustained weight loss we have to make real life changes and not revert back to old habits (easier said then done), but its the only way. Here I am restarting the right way.0

If you suffer from depression, I would stay far away from HCG. I would not recommend anyone to stay on HCG longer than 40 days, as well. If your health is in bad condition &/or you suffer from depression, you may potentially run into additonal health issues. If a real doctor says you are healthy & do not suffer from depression; it maybe ok to follow the plan (consult w/ a doctor 1st). I have know ppl to fast from food & only drink water for 30-40 days....for spiritual reasons (not weight loss) & no health issues before or after. If you have health or depression issues I would not recommend you doing HCG.....also, before you engage in any diet, supplement plan or lifestyle change you should consult w/ a real doctor to ensure it is safe for you. I also would not recommend anyone do this more than once & for longer than 40 days. When anyone engages in very Low Calorie diet they must always be monitored by a doctor. Usually doctors recommend very low calorie diets to obese individuals & they are monitored. It's a quick fix...if thats what you want maybe for an upcoming event; yes & you may gain all your weight back, if you do not change your lifestyle afterwards, but it not much different than fasting exc. you actually get to eat. I would not make this a habit or the cure all for weight loss....I would make lifestyle & spiritual changes to recieve substainable results in my physical & mental health.
Also, if you have the will power to only eat 500 calories for a 30-40 day period. I am sure you can find the will power to take the correct steps to build & engage in a healthy lifestyle. Also, I would never buy meds online, see a real doctor.0 -
